I only thought Action had produced the Dale Earnhardt versions of the C5R, I never knew they made other versions with the exception of the 2003 C5R's.

I ran across some pics of the yellow/white 1999 #3 and #4 C5R as well as the black/silver #2 C5R.

Does anyone on board have any of these models in their collection they can share pics of :feedback

Pim,

I never knew the top two existed at all.

Did the #8 with flames get made, I thought it was cancelled. :feedback

Might not be a bad idea, as I would like to know.

I know that this model was being marketed heavily, however, the rumors of it being cancelled prior to the race was ringing loudly.

As a matter of fact, for that particular race, the livery was different on the car he actually drove. I think they went to the yellow/black car that caught fire. I do know that one was made.

I posted a picture of the yellow with flames car, I'll track it down.

I absolutely love this flame car but if Action doesn't put the right correct wheels on it (see #8 car ) I'm going to pass and stick with AUTOart :ranting

Pim, the third picture down, is that the platinum car :confused
Do you have the #2 Action in pre-raced form :confused I have been looking on ebay for over a year and they never come up :cry

Darrick, don't look for a #4 from 1999, Action didn't make one. Only AUTOart did
:cheers

I have the #4 made by AUTOart. But i never saw the #2 by Action before.

AUTOart also made a #3 too.

Did GM have three teams at that time :confused

Hey Matvetter,

I would put Y spoke wheels on it myself if needed :cool

Yes the third picture down is the #3 Platinum (Action 101308) 1 of 2508

I can not remember seeing a #2 pre-race version from Action, I do have one from AUTOart that is GTS winner at Daytone 2001 (AUTOart #80106)

and you are correct, Action only did the #2 car in 1999

DiecastX- I've never seen the #3 from 1999 :confused The only ones that I have ever seen are the #2 and the #4 (AUTOart only). You are talking about the silver and black cars correct :confused

:lol

I was confused when I stated I that there was a #2 car from 99.

There was no #2 car from 99.

When I posted that, I was actually looking at a #3 car from 2000.

:lol

I was confused too, so don't worry. :giggle

A search on scale18.com's database shows that ACTION did make a 1999 black/silver C5-R. Here's the info:

ACTION 101213 ac101213 GT 1999 Chevrolet Corvette C5-R #2 Goodwrench Service Plus LE (1/3504 ) Fellows , Ron / Paul , John Jr. / Kneifel , Chris [ 2001]

They also made a yellow/white 2000 C5-R wit the following info:

N 100264 ac100264 GT 2000 Chevrolet Corvette C5-R #3 Goodwrench Service Plus LE (1/2268 ) Fellows , Ron / Bell , Justin / Kneifel , Chris [ 2000]

I hope this info helps you.
