I have been on a model airplane craze for a few weeks now. In that time I have collected close to 40 planes in a very short period of time.

I won't even go into display space.

I found this picture tonight and thought how cool it would be to have something like this on display. I'm now thinking of turning an extra bedroom into a room for my models now. And something like this would go perfectly in there.

I'm just wishful thinking here.

As much as I hate airports and all their inconveinces, I have a feeling I can run something like this with no problem, all flights arrival and departure will be guaranteed on time

I have been frugal with my diecast budget this month, in hopes of buying some display cabinets to replace my shelving. But after seeing something like this, my focus as been altered.

That is very cool, I've seen some fantastic model rail displays in my time but that is an incredibly lifelike take on an airport.

Any idea which city it's based on :?:
The top diorama is just spectacular X! I never knew Singapore Airlines operated Concordes also. I thought it was only Air France and British Airways. :?

If I had money & space, building dioramas with WW2 planes on the tarmac getting re-fueled and reloaded with ordinance would be cool.

Nope

The missus and the kids seem to know that my collection is off limits

My youngest daughter who is 2, knows she can only touch while the cars are still new in the box, once they come out the box, "no touchy"

X,

What scale are the planes in? Great looking diorama. I wonder how much of that was custom built. Probably most of it. My wife would want more jewelry if I came home with another hobby.

Theres no scale listed on the boxes. :?

I have a few larger ones and the majority of them are 1:64 scale.
X, they are really cool! I thought of airplanes too, as I worked for a group whose travel partner was British Airways, and I had a lot of models like those in my office. But I am more towards cars...

The diorama is really nice. Along those lines, maybe a mall parking lot would be a good idea of a diorama for me.....

ummm. two planes on the runway at the same time? you better not apply for an air traffic controller job anytime soon!

I believe Singapore Airlines leased a Concorde off British Airways for a short trial period either in the late 70s or the early 80s, but didn't operate it for long due to the high costs involved.

That is seroiusly cool X. You're rekindling my surpressed aviation tendencies. But an extra room? How about a hanger - you'd need one to display something that size. Not to mention your cars
.
