Hey guys.

Things have been kind of quiet lately in terms of builds. I have several projects in almost-ready-for-paint stage that I really don't care about any more.
I was spending zero time on mods over the past couple months, but made the trek over to Costco for the annual haul, and made sure to grab a 997 Carrera.

I had it pulled apart the day I got back home, and stripped the day after that.

Uh Ohhhh....

This will take some work to pull off, but I think the classic GT2 is key to the look.

A little PS work. More than likely not the final color. And definitely not this two-tone vibe goin' on either.

Horsing around. These aren't the wheels for this project. (they're for an NSX)

A tube and a half of SteelStik later, we have some RWB fenders.

Some initial filing.

A little more for some side skirts.

Need to pull up the sides a bit.

Kinda wingin' it on the front end here.

So, Not all that far along. figure I'd get the thread started, if anyone is interested in another one of these things.
Goal is to get it all done before the cold weather comes back.

Thanks a lot, gentlemen.

Here's a quick update.
Got the parts in from Phillipe at Legende. Just the spoiler and wheels this time around. and a window banner. He threw in the RWB decal for the rear spoiler as well, which is awesome, cause I forgot to order it.

I cut out some of the material from the stock engine cover, and most of the bottom half and some of the front edge of the resin part.

Then slabbed on some 'multi-metal epoxy' an inferior product to SteelStik, but it was worth a shot. It worked.

First round of the file.

Sittin on the actual wheels. The surface blending on the spoiler looks really awkward here.

Filed down a bit more. Looks 100% better. This was actually a lot easier than I anticipated.

Got some material on the front lip. Still lots of massaging and finesse work to do, but the design is pretty much wrapped at this point, aside from some styrene risers to separate the cutouts.

Thanks for looking.

Your putty work is awesome! What colour are you planning for this one?

Thanks again!
To be honest, I haven't put much thought into color. If I have the paint figured out and purchased I find I race to the finish. I want to make sure it's ready for paint before I make that decision. Weird?
Wish i had the time and efford most of all skills to make such wonderful porschaas ... can only hope i could make a shoot 1 day

It's been a busy couple of weeks and with a house guest over the weekend, I didn't have much time to work on this.
But some progress has been made, so here's an update.

I got the interior painted in a decent tan/orange color.
Grabbed some seats from a Maisto Carrera GT. Going to leave those black, as I'm pretty pleased with the look. Need to figure out belts but that's pretty much it.

Lost one of the door handles though

Put some paint on the wheels. They probably won't end up this colour, but why not.
And threw on a coat of primer after the first coat of bondo putty. this lets me know where I have to make fixes. the front bumper is the worst of it at this point.

And this is the body color I plan on using.

That's it for now.

That looks amazing, I can't say much more than that. To think how it started off and where you're planning on ending with it, wow.
Man this rwb is coming out great so far I really like the attention to detail in the interior, what did you use to paint it. Anyways keep up the fabulous work and good luck ;)

Thanks man. I used so no-name spray paint bought randomly at a dollar store for the tan color. Black was a Humbrol Satin black that was brushed on.
Mine only wished it looked this good haha

Like the front bumper, only I'd make the lower half recess slightly rather than being straight up and down, like from the indicator/sidelights to the splitter, have it recess very slightly.

Not exactly sure what you mean, Pete. The verticals, follow the form of the nose (front to back), and there is a slight angle toward the centre (up and down). I was initially going to follow the curve of the indicator, but it didn't give me the aggressive look I was hoping for.

(Pictureless Update) Filled in the rear valence vents a bit, and almost ready for paint.
Good looking work there.
