Hello fellow DXers. Here is a thread to actually say whatever you want to say about AUTOart. Whatever that is in your mind whether it be bad or good about AUTOart you can say it here. A discussion about so many things about this brand can be written and be posted. Together as a DX community let's find out and learn for those who just joined us and want to join DX in the future about the negatives and positives of this brand. Everyone can join even for those who just lurks you can say what's on your mind about AUTOart. Post it!

Like I said before, AUTOart back in the day was great. Affordable, good subject matter. They were better than Bburago and Hotwheels quality wise. In my own opinion UT was its competitor because UT was cheaper than AUTOart. UT has good quality too. It was a lot of fun going in to hobby shops then knowing that you can spend your $100 and come out with 2 UT and 2 AUTOart models on the way home.

Now fast forward 15 years and your $100 will not even buy you 1 model unless it is used. Too bad UT is gone. I wish they are still around, but AUTOart stayed and they are still around. Yes, they are still making somewhat quality models, and yes they still every now and then has good subject matter. But affordability?? It's questionable. If I have rich parents then yes I can say AUTOart is affordable even today.

There are several models that AUTOart produced in the last 2 years that I want, but I cannot afford them anymore. Now I have to choose which one stands out the most in my eyes and that is the one that I'm gonna buy. This is what AUTOart has done for a collector just like I am. The excitement seeing all the model cars coming out is still there, but the fun quickly dies down upon seeing their prices.

There are several models that AUTOart had produced in the past and present that I hated! There are also 1:1 cars I'm hoping AUTOart should make, but they never seem to care what their customers want so I don't bother. So these are just some of the stuff I can say about AUTOart.

I'm kinda new to this diecast game.AUTOart has only been lightening my wallet for the last couple of years so i haven't had the pleasure of the earlier cheaper offerings, the price now is all i know.

i think the QC is VERY hit and miss on the few 1/18 i have.brand new mazda 787b still factory sealed old stock i located last year had scratches on top of both mirrors and only last month one of the rear wheels fell right off~i have only handled this car 3 times out of the clam shell and each time with kid gloves.
first cosmo sport missing rear lense (not even loose in the box!!) returned for one with scratched rear licence plate

my 911 porsche viper green is completly flawless with
paint finish and nothing amiss anywhere!! as is my mazda rx7..

i think 1000 different hues of lambo/porsche are a bit much but understand that they already have the licences and molds for that and a ready market...

i vote for more old school japanese classics ,especially mazda rotary powered

After watching those videos it becomes obvious that the quality will be hit and miss when there's so much manual labour involved. If what they say about personnel rotation is true then missing lenses, scratched paint, stuck wheels and so on is no surprise. But finished product quality control is supposed to filter defective models. The fact that they still manage to arrive to our homes means that their QC is very lax or completely absent. As a matter of fact I'd be interested to watch their Final quality check installment more than any other.

There is alot of discussions about this. Why are you making onother one?
Actually Rosso, I'm with Citrofriend on this one......it's a topic that has been contained for some time now, and though it always starts out as a 'debate' has historically only lead to tears.....

Well,, I just thought to make a thread about how we feel about the brand that's all. I mean no harm by making it. But for some reason that someone needs to vent or start up a debate about it then now we know there's this thread that we can always go back to. Peace to all!

I don't get why people moan that autoart only makes lambos.
No one ever seems to moan that Mattel only makes ferraris, and kyosho only makes big boring audis, or cmc only makes old mercs and bugattis.
The way I see it is AUTOart make so many lambos because they sell well. They are a business at the end of the day. And business' need to make money. So if the lambos sell well then they will keep making them :)
It's strange how they still havnt produced that purple diablo yet. The SE30 is it?
You lot have been crying out for that for a while now. I wouldn't be supprised if they do eventually make it though.

And before someone says I'm a fanboy and starts having a go at me, lol, I'll admit I'm pissed off with the prices that AUTOart are charging,
My old man went mad when he found out what I payed for my zonda lol.
But that's the way things are now. We can keep going on about the days when a car was £55, and we can keep moaning. But sadly nothing will change it. There's no going back now, if we want the model that bad then we will have to just grim and bare it and pay the money for it

Agreed. High prices suck, but they're here to stay, so let's enjoy the models we can still afford and other people's collection presentations on this forum. I mean, where does it end; next thing you'll know, we'll be complaining about gas prices

I'm all for keeping the Autoart news thread about actual news, but as has already been mentioned, there are threads about this already. The two most appropriate of which, were actually started by yourself, Rosso.

http://www.diecastxchange.com/forum1/topic/57877-reasons-why-u-hate-autoart/
http://www.diecastxchange.com/forum1/topic/58909-who-still-buys-autoart-nowadays/

I don't think there's anything to discuss here that hasn't already been discussed, or can't be said in the previously mentioned threads.
