Art Soorts McLaren F1 GTR

How about a McLaren on a gray speckled background? I was never too fond of this since it had too much of a yellowish hue to it. The Art Soorts made up for the background's shortcoming though. :giggle

The question of worth is always a tough one to answer! :tempted :tempted As for the Gulf ones, there are 3 short-tail versions and 3 long-tails ones. Good luck making that decision!! :cheers

Awesome pics Felix! Very :cool1 model!
Thanks Kurt. I really like th black wheels and livery on this car. As it was made with slightly older manufacturing processes, the paint quality doesn't compare to the newer AutoArt's. Even the quality of details are just "passable" if you compare to today's standards. That said, it's not likely anyone else will be making these F1 GTRs which means the supply of these 1:18 cars will not increase in the future. I guess that's why I bit the bullet to get my F1 GTRs. :cheers

This is one of your best shots in my opinion. The model is very well lighten and the bg is great.

Thanks for the kind words about the pics. I'm still trying hard to improve the way I take pics of cars with lots of white on them. I've re-shot the Art Soorts on 3 separate occassions and they all turned out poorly. I'll get it right one day!!

So which F1 GTR do you think you try to get first?

Improve your shots? :confused

I don't see anything about these shots that need improving. :cheers If you continue to raise the bar for photo shooting, I'd be too embarrass to post my blurry pics! Don't do it! :happy :cheers

As for the F1s - I would like to get my hands on either Franck Muller's #53 or the long tail Loctite #41 because it's such a wicked looking F1 - black out wheels and all. :cheers

The trouble I have with white is my lighting technique. Too little light means the details don't punch out. Too much light means the contours of the body panels get "washed out" almost as if there's too much contrast in an image. In that case, the curves of the body panels kind of disappear. Don't worry about me "setting the bar" higer any time soon. I'm a slow learner in photography. :lol :lol

The Franck Muller car is really nice looking. Just watch out that the car you get has its decals intact. If you're bidding for one off eBay, be sure to ask the question about the state of the decals.

Here are a couple shots for you G3 :tempted This baby came all the way from Brazil (LUW-land! :happy )

Thank you!!! :drool :drool :drool

You've mentioned the decals... I wasn't aware that these use decals. I thought all the graphics are tampo printed. Thank you very much for the heads up as I know very little about these particular models. :cheers

Now if these were robots... :lol

Off the top of my head, it's just the number "53" that are decals. There'd be three of them; one on each door and one on the hood. I'll double-check on the Union Jack and let you know about whether those are decals or tampo prints.
