Timbo, if you're referring to attaching a pic to a post, the size limit is 55KB. Any thing bigger then that will be rejected by the server.

I've heard from a few folks on the DX Forum that a good/free software for editing images is IrfanView Click on the link to download th software. Although I haven't used it before, I'm led to believe there is a function that allows you to compress your image accordingly to hit a target file size (in kb). If you have any questions, feel free to ask. :cheers

I've managed to find photimpression on the work computer and shall have a go at that.
