Hi.

New to the forum and new to Autoart.

I'm currently in the process of building a collection from scratch and noticed something unusual whilst researching older 1:18 Autoart diecast models. It seems that there were a number of occasions where Autoart announced a model and then either never put it into production or produced so few of them that there aren't any photos available online of it. A couple of examples of this I have noticed is the 997 Sport Classic (78026) and the Ford GT in white with black stripes (73024).

Is anyone able to explain why this might be the case?

Cancelled, didn't get approved, license conflicts, take your pick!

I have some old catalogues and would like to have seen some of the listed subjects released.
Such as the 1988 Ford Sierra RS500 Fuji Intertec winner.
It's not only AUTOart who cancelled projects for no announced reason.....

Also remember that Autoart used to be diecast manufacturer so, unlike resin manufacturers, they had to produce hundreds/thousands of models to break even. So if there are no images of a particular model online, than chances are that prototype was canceled by Autoart.

My catalogue has part numbers for all of the models.
Sometimes the number is allocated to an entirely different subject, other times there is no image or details when searched.
