Tkdiecast recently released this kit so here we go.

A few quirks about this model. The mirrors are part of the door

The hinge just slides out as opposed to being a swivelling mechanism

The engine bay has this annoying metal thing running across it.

And into the stripper it goes.

Time to cut.

After an hour of cutting the blade finally snapped in half.

Tried this hobby saw - didn't work.

Tried this actual saw - didn't work.

Finally went and bought a new blade for the jeweller's saw and cut it off. But just to give you an idea - this is how thick the front bumper was. The rear bumper was even thicker.

Then it was time to cut off that metal thing across the engine bay

I also used this opportunity to make way for wheels by cutting away some metal in the wheel well and sanding the fender down from the inside.

Before:

After:

Sanding the fender from the inside

Trying the front drift subframe

Paint will be candy purple from splash paint. One of these, depending on the base coat

And the ballpark inspiration

Looking good already, if it looks anything like that 1:1 it's going to be a beauty! Love these big Lexus' when they're modified. Did you finish the last couple of jobs on the LC500?

One small (nerdy) thing - the GS was the Toyota Aristo. Altezza was the IS.

Oh my god, thanks for pointing that out. I know this but I keep mixing them up. I'm sure the fact that I'm also doing an Altezza doesn't help.

Yeah the LC500 is all done!
