Beanstalk is gone

I just read this at the Pub:
25 February 04

Mr. Aberegg,

The Beanstalk Group is currently in discussions to sell, certain portions
of our business, primarily our Premium Merchandise Management and Diecast, Toys and Collectibles Manufacturing.

These business operations will continue to function in a different
format, under the new owners when these transactions take place. Until that time it will be business as usual.

In regard to specific models, both of these products have been licensed
out to other manufacturer's who will annouce their intentions under their
own terms.

Thank you for your inquiry, I hope this answers your question.

So I was right in saying that everybody should get their Ford GT as soon as possible. :giggle

I sure hope whoever ends up with the tooling does the GT in black :scared
Don't worry, it was popular car. I'm sure whoever gets the tooling will milk it.
Interesting. I wonder does this mean AUTOart will be able to make 007 branded cars again??? (Which I think they originaly lost out on to Beanstalk???) That certainly would be a good thing, especially if they released a "Diamonds Are Forever" version of their '71 Mustang.

:iagree

As long as the new owners keep the same or better level of quality, it's not necessarily a bad thing. I hope they'll make the Aston in regular street guise without the 007 toys.
:cheers

From what I know, Bs didn't have the rights to all 007 cars, only to Ford cars that were in the last movie.

Has it been determined who is manufacturing the BG models, BG has always been the middle man between FordMoCo and scale manufacturers. BG is not into manufacturing diecasts, they are licensing and promotional firm.

Ford contracted BG to facilitate their Centenial Model lineup, however, Ford became unhappy with either BG or the manufacture and the relationship strained and the entire deal was on its last leg. Considering BG is bowing out, maybe Ford has chosen another middle man(these are just my thoughts, form your own opinion.)

Its always been known that Ford and BG was two of the players, but no one has confirmed with 100% information who the manufacture is, that is what I am wanting to know.

:iagree A Vantage of that quality, w/o the missles and ejection seat's would be most welcome!! :danbanna
I hope they still decide to make the Shelby Cobra Concept, I wish AUTOart or even Maisto would aquire the right's before Ertl.

That's too bad, they were really nice models.

Let's just hope Mattel isn't thinking about buying the right's to everything! :lol

Does this mean that the cars with the Beanstalk Group logo on the bottom might become a little bit "rare"?
G
so that means 2005 Ford mustang and ford GT aren't gonna be made anymore in 1/18?

I'm sure someone will buy this tooling and milk it for all it's worth.

When i first looked into collecting these, i was informed, (and i cannot remember for the life of me who by), that it was Minichamps.

Does this mean that the cars with the Beanstalk Group logo on the bottom might become a little bit "rare"?
Hope so; i've got all 4 :happy

The 3 i bought on eBay, (within the UK), have Pauls ModelArt stickers on the bottom of the boxes, as well as the Beanstalk logo; the 4th model came from the USA, and does not have the Pauls ModelArt sticker on it, but it is reasonable to assume it is also Minichamps.
:scared :crying Goodbye, Beanstalk! :happy I'll miss you!

Kinda makes me glad I jumped on the Vanquish when I did. :cool
It looks like Ertl has aquired the right's for the Bond cars, this may mean they have the right's for the rest of the releases like the FGT and Cobra Concept :ranting
