I thought I'd break out of my race car mode and try a few pics of the black CGT against the red background (sort of Souky style). I think I'll stick to a gray background so there isn't so much of the red colour reflected against the car. There's a bit of a weird red glow to the black car. :confused

Felix, see if there is a function in your image editing software to remove color cast, or adjust white balance. By using that feature, you can remove the reddish cast from the car and improve your pic. Just a suggestion...

Out of curiosity, do you find certain diecast paint colours to be much easier to photograph than others? I have found muted subdued dark colours to be extremely challenging to illuminate well. :feedback
Other Gents: Thanks for the encouraging words. By the way, any non-race car I buy is for my son's collection. As he's only 10 yrs old, that means there are a lot of makes/models I cannot buy. I look out for good budget models by folks like Maisto.
