Yeah I've been working on it for the whole weekend so I'm foward schedule. But I forecast a long way ahead as I still need to make accessories and outside scenery. But won't stop me from planning a next project 😏 🤪
I think this is it for 2022. And now the fun begins; working on details and accessories. Before I will weather it up a bit. I don't want it to look abandoned. This is a car garage being used by a jaguar gentleman somewhere in England. So all I can say now is Happy New Year. May 2023 be an year of celebration, model making and lots of new diecast purchases. Cheers 🍻 👏
How did I miss this thread after replying initially. To see the full post / build log in one shot is so satisfying and your efforts in building it with such details is outstanding. As @cwbs posted it is definitely worth it in terms of the cost.
Now cannot wait to see the outside of diorama getting built.
Last week I was too involved with another project so I couldn't make a lot progress on the diorama. I'm starting to work on some accessories now. I use some styrene, wiring from old phone cables and leftovers from old projects. Soon I will finish the lighting, wiring and then start on the outside area. I will order some products from green stuff world. I really like that shop as their products are sold at a fair price.
I don't know eletric idioms in english, switch box and plug in I guess
In my workshop I got an air compressor as loud as that would be. I will prime and paint it soon
An overall of the house almost finished
Those wall lights I bought from model railroad shop. They use 3V battery
I'll install the switch for both outside and inside lights.
So, that's how my diorama is like today. As soon as I weather things up a bit in the inside I will glue the roof in place. There are a lot of stuff I need to do yet and since I'm hand building them I'll take a while until I finish everything I got in mind. Nothing fancy, just some accessories. I keep you guys on track for updates. Thanks
I will apply dirt texture using clay from the backyard, static grass and make a concrete path. I'll also add some gardening and maybe a pile of fire wood.
I'm working on some scratch building accessories. Painting and weathering
Chipping and dry brushing
Still need to add some dust dirt, rust wash and apply lighter base color with a sponge around the chipping (I did it wrong. 1st lighter base color) I will work with pigments with gloss varnish to simulate some grease and oil. Just a tip if you are a beginner just like me, apply satin varnish before wash. Otherwise yoi will ruin your work. I hope to have more interesting updates next month. I ordered some gardening stuff. I will keep working on some tools. Maybe I make a ladder, shelves, whatever I can do without 3d printers since I don't have one yet.
For a first time weathering I guess it's quite good. But I made a mistake; the air compressor was supposed to be smoothed to make a fine surface, but because of the wood it sucks the wash making the glazing impossible. Next time I won't commit that crime.0000000000000000000
Unfortunately these days are being very busy for me so the progrees is going slow. Anyhow I have to wait for some products to arrive, so I'm working on some small details
Finally I got back on the project. Now I can say I'm at the final lap. Already miss working on this house. But still got a lot to do. I have to start working on the terrain tomorrow and apply some noch static grass. I'm thinking on planting some sea foam trees in the back fence to give like a depth od scenery, as if the neighbor's backyard was in the other side.
The next steps are very very very time consuming. A lot really. So don’t expect me to post updates here soon, maybe in my next life I finish it off. Actually not a big deal. My boss gave me the idea to plant a tree so I have to obey her.
This is my first project I go deep into. Everything I’m doing foward this point is my very first time, so I’m sorry for the imperfection and inaccuracies.
I’m struggling to reach a nice asphalt effect so I keep working with pigments until I get it.
Now the tree. I got dead branches from my backyard, seam foam tree and some foliage I picked up. Next I plan to fix them with spray adhesive or hairspray.
Thanks for your kind comment. Sometimes I have to repeat the process from beginning when I do something wrong and delays the progress but I feel I’m learning a bit at a time. It’s been really fun working on this project. I had no idea I’d go this far. I hope to get the tree done soon then I will add some extra details. I fell I’m gonna miss working on the little house
Before I continue I decided to check the scale. As predicted maybe it is 1/20 but due the width of the house I had no choice. If I made it higher it’d look like a church or a temple 😆😆 maybe I’d name it carthedral 😆😆
I couldn’t let you guys with no updates. A quick add to the scenery, took me about a hour job to make it. Meanwhile I’m working on the tree project branch by branch
It’s been a while so I decided to show some little updte
