Hello All,

I recieved this today. As the title suggests it is a Exact Detail Chevy Malibu SS 396 which is commonly known as the Chevelle Z16. Only 201 1:1s of these were made, but 3000 of the 1:18 have been produced of which mine is number 2983.
I promised myself that I wouldn't buy a model this month but as soon as I saw this I had to have it. It is a fantastic model - the engine bay is awesome, my photos do not do it justice. The interior has some nice touches too, the seats for instance are padded which is something not even the CMC SLR has and the model also comes with an aerial which I haven't fitted.

This Chevy is huge, I've taken a pic with a Minichamps Porsche 904 for a size comparison.

Here are the rest of the pics (Between 48-75KB)

Apologies for the awful pics but the lighting conditions are poor outside, and taking pics of a red car with a flash produces horrible results.
Here are a couple of outdoor pics so you can see what a miserable day it is!

:cheers

Thanks everyone! :cheers

Jeff - you are 100% right. I've never seen a 1:1 Chevelle in the UK, there is probably only a few in the country. Even this model is difficult to hold of - I ordered mine from Germany.
I've always been a fan of 60/70s US muscle cars and as soon as i saw this I jumped on it with both hands.

:cheers

Thanks Al, does the convertible one come in blue? The selection of these models is extremely limited this side of the pond, so its a case of grabbing what you can or paying taxes on stuff shipped from the US.

I'm very pleased with this model. It won't be my last highend muscle car.

:cheers

Jim, have you seen the Ertl version of this car?
I think it is about half price but I am unsure if it is half as good :confused
It is one of their "Authentics"

Thanks Ronan - it really is a well detailed model. I've just been looking at it again and have just noticed loads more details, such as the photoetched speaker covers in the rear parcel shelf and the 'plumbed' brakes. I also can't stop pressing the seats as they feel nice. :giggle

Jeff - I didn't know Ertl made a version of this. To be honest I had my heart set on buying either an Exact Detail/Lane or GMP model - as a result I didn't search for any other brand. But thanks for the information, i'll google it to see if the Ertl is any good.

Thanks too Alon.

:cheers

Thanks again Alon.

The Ertl does look pretty good. However the Lanes engine detail looks better as does the interior.

Thanks RoadWarrior.

I have no idea what the bottle is. It appears to contain a clear liquid, and the label has GM on it, so your guess is as good as mine.

No need to apologies Jim, they look nice enough, and yes the light is poor, but what do you expect for English weather, your Back Garden looks nice though :lol

Oh, and model is nice, obviously. :cheers :nicejob
