If it has two spare wheels, is it supposed to represent a car at a race meeting?
I seem to remember an occasion when one was used in practice for an event, rather than the usual 300SLR car - used in the race.
Perhaps my memory is playing games with me.....

The red interior car was never used for race practice/backup car, only the blue interior one, on two occasions; The 1955 Swedish Grand Prix and 1955 RCA Tourist Trophy.
CMC is releasing both race ready versions; M-244 and M-245.

Breathtaking!! A holy grail of mine too. I pre-ordered mine w/ blue interior sometime last summer, hopefully that arrives soon. I really love the fact that it has two spares! Looks like one standard and one full-size?
Hearty congratulations on a truly great add. And fantastic pictures! I can't get enough pictures of this one.

It's great that CMC has offered multiple versions of this great car, but I have my heart set on the blue interior WITH external muffler and they are not currently remaking it, so I'll pass. That one detail just makes that car for me and the CMC website says that was Rudi U.'s personal driver, though I have yet to find a photo of a 1:1 with that feature.

So it goes back into my Holy Grail category...

Your post immediately made me smile, Red!
I do prefer the blue over the red interior but from the first release I got me the red one.
Why? Just because I don't like this giant external muffler. ;)

Another example how different perferences and likes are - which is really good!
Just imagine we would all desire the same! OMG!

And with the announced re-release I get a second chance for the blue Uhlenhaut…

Was news of this re-release recent? I pre-ordered the blue Uhlenhaut last July and it's listed as 'backordered'. I'm wondering if I should continue to wait that one out?
According to the CMC USA website as of today, it's "not yet available":

If you pre-ordered from a reputable retailer, you're probably OK, though there is no timeframe for its release given.

I pre-ordered also last summer and I am not worried at all.
Over the years I learned to become a patient collector.
With CMC and my preferred dealer I am still optimistic.
Didn’t need to place any deposit - so I‘m on the safe side anyway… :D

Thanks! I saw that on their website and I'm not really concerned because I trust the people I'm buying from. Looks like the status hasn't changed, which is fine.

Ditto! I believe patience is a necessity for this hobby. I have a reputable store that I've been buying from for a long time and I am not unaccustomed to waiting months or even years between making a pre-order and seeing the model arrive. So the thought of cancelling this one wasn't even on my radar. The truth is, I don't care when the car gets here as long as it gets here. And like you, I didn't put a deposit down either so I'm good ;)

Also, I'm on your side regarding the external muffler. I like the car better without it.
