Here is another positive example of shipping.
I ordered and paid for my LCD Models Pagani Huayra from a chinese dealer.
The shipment was sent out on Thursday last week and i received it today.
It was shipped by DHL.

To put it into perspective i had another order from a swedish company which i ordered on Saturday 25 July.
It took the Swedish Postal service 7 days to deliver that package a distance of about 200 km

I think it is possible to do that distance in about 2.5 hours if you use a car.

Any Aussies on here ordered anything recently via DHL standard shipping and can comment on delivery timelines? Specifically looking for those who have ordered from Germany.
I have the option for DHL express but it's about double the cost of the already expensive DHL standard shipping

I began this thread with a story about screwdrivers ordered in April this year.
Today two small packages arrived from China.
One package contained one of the screwdrivers ordered at that time!
The second package was for a camera remote switch ordered last week!

Following up on this.. anyone here in Land Down Under ordered stuff from Germany using Deustch Post's DHL recently and did you have to wait long for the parcel to arrive? I am hoping the logistics have improved somewhat...

I hitherto can't beat 11 weeks for an international shipment, although 10 weeks seems "The New Normal™"
However, 11 days for a parcel from Manchester, which is the epic journey of 8 miles from my home, certainly is a new low for inland.

The transport may be eco friendly, but the postage isn't.
I can't possibly clad in appropriate lyrics just how sick and tired I am to sponsor every dickhead's next gold plated toilet in his fourteen marbled bathroom villa.

Also waiting since 23rd of march for my order from CK ....
about to cancel the damn order ..lol
That is an incredibly long wait... I ordered a model from Germany in mid-July which got shipped out in mid-August via DHL (Deustch Post), but didn't get any tracking updates since the end of August. After a few inquiries, they couldn't locate the package and I ended up getting a full refund.

Just received Deutsche Post tracking from Modelissimo. Let the waiting game begins.. for me
somehow i have a feeling i won't see my order until 2021...
I've had multiple orders from Modelissimo just vanish as they hand off to USPS. Shipments either never to get to U.S. customs or get stuck there. CK Modelcars uses DHL which incurs a 15 Euro "crisis surcharge" on top of the standard 35 to U.S. residents. You have to purchase a bunch of models to offset that $60 USD shipping charge.

Where as CLDC in Hong Kong ships DHL Express for FREE on any item over 100- USD and items generally arrive within five business days. As for all these other Asian/European Ebay vendors who ship EMS, China Speedpak, deutsche post etc. The chances of the item arriving to the U.S. are slim to none. Right now UPS, DHL & Fedex are currently your only hope.

I have yet to buy anything from CLDC.. and yes their free shipping offer is definitely a major attraction. Was close at getting the Dome Zero a while back when they had the Kyosho sale but was promptly refunded due to being out of stock

I have been buying from Modelissimo for quite a few years now used to be a frequent patron at Ck-modelcars but they were not accomodating at all when one of the models arrived damaged insisted that i must send it back on a slow boat and my next order went to Modelissimo and has been ever since. They are still imposing the crisis surcharge after Deutsche Post has dropped it a month ago if I am not mistaken? And it is 6EUR per model in my case so I would need to fork out close to 100EUR for 10 1/18s. My current parcel was last scanned about 12 days ago and if the Deutsche Post logistic info is current I would imagine they are going to send it to somehwere in south asia by plane then put onto a ship and travel the rest of the way here. Fingers crossed they do show up early next year and don't get left behind somewhere in a random warehouse.

I had a package ordered on the 28th November delivered yesterday from CK.
Even this year with the pandemic deliveries had not slowed significantly.
I suppose adding in the Christmas rush is having an effect.
I used to know my post office van driver, either through various deliveries or seeing him around the place.
Recently every delivery is by a driver I've not seen before.....

DHL has a notification on it's website that shipments to Ireland and the UK are suspended.
Good to know, thanks! Yesterday I ordered something from Germany, but it's coming via FedEx. No notices on their site, so I guess I'll receive it sometime next year, I'm hoping.

I haven't had any trouble with parcels from Germany tbh, most arrive here in a week to 10 days.

But I ordered a few things from Belgium back in November and they're still stuck "in transit". Saying that, bPost has always been very slow, I mostly avoid buying anything that comes from Belgium because of that.

I've just had a notification from Modelissimo that a refund has been issued for an order that was paid for on the 8th December.
If there were problems at the time of order, I should have been notified.
I had an order from CK delivered a week ago, placed after one from Modelissimo.
It would appear that different regions of Germany had the problem begin at different times.
