i know i do. all of my 1/18 impreza's have to be blue first and all of my 1/18 type r's have to be championship white (although there are only 2 1/18 type r's that i know of). so do you guys have a preference? another example all ferrari's gotta be red.

I don't. It all depends on the model of the car and the colors offered by the diecast brand. For instance, my Lambo Diablo GTR HAD to be black. The yellow one is nice, but the black is plain mean, so black it was.

I had to have the silver AUTOart Gallardo because i loved the interior!!! :cool

Lambo

Other than that, i'm not that bothered by anything else unless it is green (can't have because of a family superstition!)

I tend to pick colors of the model that's either:

1. Most eye pleasing
2. As seen in press photos and in person

So for me, the R34 Skyline has to be Bayside blue, most Ferrari red but the 456 and 612 look better in blue. Porsche looks great in many different colors, British cars usually BRG, some cars like the MB SLR should be in silver, Murcielago in metallic yellow...etc

On the other hand, in the case of AUTOart, some of the models I just buy the color I can get locally.

I like to have a mixture of colors for a certain make:

UT F355 Spider - Yellow on Black
UT F355 Berlinetta - Red on Beige
UT 550 Maranello - Silver on Red

AUTOart 911 Turbo - Silver
AUTOart 911 GT2 - Metallic Black
AUTOart 911 GT3 - Red

In the case of the Ferraris I love the 1:1's in those color-combos. For the Porsches I sweated over which colors to get but am VERY happy with the result.

There are certain cars that I had to get in a certain color, because it's a fantastic color, there's no other choice, or it's a unique color:

AUTOart Skyline R34 V-Spec II - Bayside Blue (classic color for this car)

AUTOart BMW M3 - Laguna Seca Blue (unique and very nice)

UT McLaren F1 LM Roadcar - Papaya Orange (No other choice, but I love this color so
it works out :giggle)

Minichamps BMW M3 GTR - Phoenix Yellow (unique and very cool in my humble opinion, although all of the
colors are great for this model)

RedLine 360 Challenge Stradale - Black (saw pics of a black 1:1 and it's AWESOME)

:cheers

I do,
All my Mercedes SLs are silver (interior as on 1:1) in reference to the silver arrows that started it all. Pre 50's mercedes are any combination that exist on the 1:1

As for my Ferraris, Red is my first choice unless absolutely necessary.

Well my collection is mostly of race cars, so that make life easy for me.

Ferrari F1 cars are in red, Bentley Le Mans cars are in British racing green and the Toyota Le Mans cars are in red and white.

For my road cars I got all colours in the Ford GT2005, Bugatti EB110, and Ford RS200. My 18 scale GT3RS HAD to be red/white though, so I have fallen for the colour trap. But that is such a sweet look on that car. I love it.

My 959 also had to be silver. Is there anything more elegant than a silver Porsche though?

But it does look good in your collection. :nicejob

I prefer white, however, there are not a lot white diecast models available.

I think one of the hardest color choices I had to make was picking which AUTOart Callaway C12 I wanted. That is one model that looks good in either color :tongue

If you look at some of the other cars that enzo looks to be 1/12.
The F50 and the Enzo are 1/12. Made by tamiya.. The 250GTO is made by Revell and the 250P is made by Retrotoys.

The rest is made in 1/18 :happy
