Hi all! The mod team has asked me to run another game of DX Jeopardy. I'm on spring break, so I think I have time to do it.

There will be two rounds, single and double Jeopardy, followed by one Final Jeopardy question. Unlike the TV show, I'm not going to wait for contestants to pick the next question. Rather, I will simply move down each category in increasing order. First person to answer each question gets the (imaginary) money. Wrong answers lose money. You can only answer once.

Our categories for "Single Jeopardy":

Expensive Models
Special Paint
Great Racing Liveries
1:12 Scale
"Not available in 1:18"
Kyosho

Our opening question is Expensive models for $100:

"The Lamborghini Reventon, Ferrari F430, and McLaren F1 are three road cars available from this diecast maker in huge 1:8 scale -- for an average price of about $5000!"

Amalgam models is right, Al!

The score stands thus: Acisne, $100. Everyone else, diddly-squat.

According to the info at the bottom of this thread, the only people reading it are Al and I. So in the interests of having a real competition, I'm gonna wait to post the next question until about 6:30 or 7:00. Check back then.

Here's "Expensive models" for $200:

Were you wanting a Diablo SE30 of higher quality than Maisto? You could shell out $1500 for a 1:12 resin version in stunning purple from this manufacturer.

Yes, APM it is! The score is Simondc07 $200; acisne $100.

Next clue in "Expensive Models":

"The Hot Toys ® version of this movie vehicle in huge 1:6 scale has working lights, accomodates a 1:6 action figure, and will set you back $500 to $1000. But it's not diecast."

The Tumbler is right, for $300.

The score sits at Simondc07, $500; acisne, $100.

That's all for tonight. See you tomorrow evening. (Sorry for the slow pace of the game, but my computer is in the shop, and I'm mooching off my wife's Macbook, so I don't want to hog it. Things will move faster once I get my own computer back from having its hard drive replaced.)

Beat me to it, Al

The Chaparral 2 is correct, and in light of the lawsuit, we can expect that price to go up on the used market.

The score sits at Simondc07, $500; acisne, $500.

Final question in "Expensive Models", for $500:

"Pierre Scerri of Avignon, France, took 15 years to build a 1:3 scale model of this Ferrari racer, complete with operable 12-cylinder engine that revs when you press the accelerator. Price? It's not for sale."

Not sure about that brand name, Al, but it is the 312pb.

Score: acisne, $1000, Simondc07, $500.

On we go to "Special Paint":

"Only one in 10 Ferrari F50's were painted this color, which is named after Enzo Ferrari's place of birth."
