Yes, you can wager your whole score. Alex Trebek, the host of the real "Jeopardy!", calls that "Making it a true daily double."

To clarify, is that what you're doing? (Remember, you lose the amount of your wager if you are wrong.)

In other news, the Chevy Nova was right, bringing the score to this:

Scores: acisne, $6500; Dbonser $3700; Spadge1976, $3600; Mairandeddy, $3500; Simondc07, $1100; Gavin, $900; S40, $600; Superleggera, $400; Mox, $300; Carbonsigma, $300; Seby123, $200.

Al has really been on a tear here. But if Eddy manages to double his score with his daily double, he'd take the lead.

Here's the next question while we're waiting for Eddy to finalize his wager. Everyone can answer this:

This 1970 car was produced as a response to the out of control insurance premiums that were killing the muscle car. It had a very striking yellow black and red paint scheme, fiberglass hood, rear spoiler and a small block engine. With a 0-60 time of 7.0 seconds, and a 15.2 second 1/4 mile time, it had respectable performance, but it couldn't match it's big block brothers, and less than 3500 were sold.

Yes, that's right for $600.

The score:
Scores: acisne, $7100; Dbonser $3700; Spadge1976, $3600; Mairandeddy, $3500; Simondc07, $1100; Gavin, $900; S40, $600; Superleggera, $400; Mox, $300; Carbonsigma, $300; Seby123, $200.

Muscle Cars Light for $800:

Group 44 was selected to campaign this compact sedan (since its manufacturer didn't have a pony car to race), which they did quite successfully at the beginning of the series, finishing fifth in the initial (1966) championship, and winning the first race the next year. But as the Mustangs, Camaros, Cougars etc. began to dominate, it was no longer competitive and soon disappeared from the series. However, in the years to come it went on to become a very potent car at the drag strip, in the hands of amateurs and pros alike.

We've got a couple of wild men wagering here!

OK, since you've both placed your wagers, here are the two questions:

Eddy's daily double is in "Zombie Car Companies":

With its unique "step down" design (a unibody design with a recessed floorpan (as opposed to sitting on top of the frame)) giving it a much lower center of gravity and outstanding six cylinder engine this car dominated stock car racing in the early '50's, when the cars were actually stock.

Dbonser's daily double is in "Muscle Cars Light":

Not a muscle car, but an interesting failure at producing an early hot hatch, this car took one of the most infamous cars of the era, if not of all time, added a twin cam head designed by one of the most famous engine development companies in the world, and some various performance upgrades. Unfortunately, as seems to happen much too often, it ended up doubling the cost of the normal hatchback version of this handsome car, and was only $900 less than a Corvette. Only around 3500 were built before increasingly stringent emissions controls drove the final nail in its coffin.

Remember, gentlemen, answer only your own question. No other competitors may answer.

Yes, the Chevrolet Cosworth Vega is right, doubling dbonser's score and giving him the lead:

Scores: Dbonser $9000; acisne, $7100; Spadge1976, $3600; Mairandeddy, $3500; Simondc07, $1100; Gavin, $900; S40, $600; Superleggera, $400; Mox, $300; Carbonsigma, $300; Seby123, $200.

We await Eddy's answer for his question.

While we're doing that, the final Jeopardy category is... this:

Roadster Rivals

Please PM me your wagers by midnight tonight, then I'll post the question, and you can PM me your responses. I will reveal the correct answer and wrap up the game after 7:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (USA) on Saturday Sunday.

Do you have a time machine?
Do you mean by 7:00 PM Sunday or do you need the wagers earlier in the day today?

OK, enough wagers are in -- that is, from all the frontrunners -- that I'm going to post the final clue. The category is Roadster Rivals. PM me your answers or email them to [email protected] DO NOT POST THEM HERE.

1989 was an annus mirabilis for convertible sports cars. Not only did it see the introduction of the Mazda Miata, but it also saw two other cars: one that has been called the "best handling front-wheel-drive car of all time", an overpriced reincarnation of the car the Miata most closely imitated; the other, the third generation of a FoMoCo product first introduced in Australia and slow to come to the US market because of issues with fitting airbags.

(Note: You need to give two answers to get credit.)
