Hello everyone, I am new to the board so this is my first review. I stopped by ToysRus today to check out their diecast and found this LR3 on the shelf limited to 1,750. Since I like SUV's and the price was right at $25, I thought this would be a unique addition to my collection. The exerior of this model is very nicely done. There are no attachment stubs for the headlights or tailights and the back windows are actually tinted. The paint is nice with no flaws and the door open on realistic hinges. The trunk has a split back which is also very cool. In addition, they gave this model the rear sunroof, which looks realistic. The only problem I have with the exterior is they use plastic inserts for the foglights, when they should be clear. The interior is another story. They use stickers for the radio, nav, and AC controls (think bburago). Even though the stickers are accurate, it really gives it a cheap look. The seats are made of plastic and the floors are hard. The highpoints of the interior are the seatbelts and headliner. The roof is completely covered by a tan headliner, leaving no metal exposted. The seatbelts feel realistic, but they are too big and look out of place. For a $25 model, I think it is a very good value. It looks very nice on my shelf! Here are a few pictures of it:

That's a gorgeous Ertl L3! And I've never seen that color before, only the boring silver. Thanks for the detailed description, I might go to TRU and see if there are any on the shelves.

Thanks everyone and I am glad I found this site! It seems that everybody here is into a lot of the same cars I am so it is great! I have only seen one of these in each Toysrus I have been in so it may be a bit hard to come by. I think the red is only available in Toysrus.

First of all,
to the forum :cheers

That looks like a great $25 Ertl and the color really "pops" in the sunlight.

Its a shame they don't go the extra mile to do away with the stickers in the interior.

:welcome and congrats on the LR3.

I too picked up one of these today at TRU and pretty much agree with what you said about the model. On my example, the flakes in the paint seemed to have pooled at the edges of the various panels, making it appear darker than in the middle. On the plus side their QC looks to be consistent; my navigation sticker doesn't fit in its spot either :giggle

One other thing I've noticed is the front seatbacks tilt forward. Why they would include this feature on a 4 door... :confused
