Hi community,

Any recommendation on how to deal with Exoto returns these days? I was gifted a Turbo Boost Bundle for Xmas which lit the diecast fire in me again but after exchanging the first bundle and receiving another imperfect bundle I rather return the set and buy them individually from fellow collectors or on ebay.

The current problem is that Exoto (Tony) claims that returns can only be granted based on Exoto's (his) discretion.... We initially tried to exchange the bundle a second time but a lack of response frustrated us too much so we decided to end this back and forth (or lack thereof) the only logical way.

Long story short.... i'm tempted to just return the bundle via UPS (suck up the $ for it) and file a dispute with the CC company... I understand that this is a bit drastic but I don't want to be taken for a ride that extends for months....

Any thoughts?

Thank you.

Jens

Depends how it was paid for, if it was CC go that route, if it was PayPal go that route. If you did PayPal & open a case, don't close it if he tells you too. Otherwise you'll have been had. Get the refund first.

Thanks all! Opened a case this morning.

The problem with the models is that the "Lubrifilm" one has missing parts of a decal on the right front fender and what appears to be a manufacturing error where the fender meets the front bumper.

The "Momo" one has a damaged passenger side window.

I understand that it is "risky" to buy from Exoto directly but as mentioned it was a Xmas present not bought by me.

What a shame that Tony is such a crook. I’ve got a LOT of Exoto cars and would like to add a few more, but will not buy anymore, I’ve even contacted him and told him I’ll pick up in person since I live fairly close, he said not a chance! What’s that tell you?

Tony at Exoto is the biggest con-artist on the planet. If you must have an exoto model, buy it from another collector. Good luck
