Hi All,

Here I would like to present my models collected since 2001. Also as a fun part, I would like to rank my models based on simply 3 things:

1. The 1:1 car appeal to me persoanlly.
2. Model exterior including shape, paintwork, doglegs, special features etc.
3. Model interior including flocked texture, photo etched parts, engine details, trunk etc

Of course the rating is quite subjective, and mostly for fun :D

10 = CMC quality, 0 = Bburago quality

Thanks a lot for the nice words guys!

I have a question for the CMC SLR #722 owners. Does every #722 model have the movable side panel like this one shown in ws6_22's collection? In other words, there is only one CMC version of #722 right?

Thanks a lot in advance!!
Frank

Because I often see pictures without that panel like here:

1987
Kyosho Ferrari F40
Total: 19 Real car appeal: 6 Exterior: 6 Interior: 7

+ Movable seats
+ Relatively rare, the 1:1 is legendary, and the Kyosho one is a lot better than the Elite F40.

- Paint rash
- Engine detail is a bit plastic
- tail lights are too much inwards.

Hi guys,

It has been a while since I last updated this topic. I just had probably the most important half year in my career so far: got my PhD in quantum physics, and starting now as a patent attorney. I have to say that DX has been a perfect place for my mental support in that period, it's always nice see the lovely models from everyone! Thanks everyone!

As today, I got one of my grails, probably the rarest 1:18 James Bond vehicle model: the BMW R 1200 C made by Minichamps. Now, I have to say I really don't know much about 1:18 motorbikes. No idea which brand makes the most detailed 1:18 bikes, but this Minichamps is much better than the Welly or Maisto 1:18 bikes. Has Franklin mint made any 1:18 bike?

1997
Minichamps BMW R 1200 C Tomorrow Never Dies
Total: 14 Real car appeal: 8 Exterior: 6 Interior: -

+ Quite rare. Limited dealer edition, 1000 pieces maybe?
+ A proper Bond version, much better than the Maisto bike.
+ Movable back seat support
+ Nice rims

- Quality control lacks a bit (sticker is not straight, neither is the headlight lens)
- Plastic parts like the exhausts

2005
Kyosho BMW M5 E60
Total: 17 Real car appeal: 4 Exterior: 7 Interior: 6

+ Mmmmmm power 4 door saloon car, all doors open
+ Pretty much the last generation of decent Kyosho models
+ Relatively sought after

- Doglegs at the hood
- Front number plate is too thin
- Exhaust pipes are too small.

2007
Kyosho BMW M3 E93
Total: 19 Real car appeal: 5 Exterior: 8 Interior: 6

+ M3 remains quite popular among the collectors
+ Pretty much the last generation of decent Kyosho models
+ Working foldable roof!

- A few QC problems
- I don't like the shape of the 1:1 headlights
- The shape of the rear lights is off

It has been more than a year since I updated this thread.
There are still quite a lot of models that need to be reviewed, but I just cannot find enough time...

Recently I bought a HWE Ghostbusters car after I heard that HWE sadly won't exist any longer. I'm really surprised by its length. See below a comparison with the mighty Maybach 62.
