This car won the 1962 Daytona 500, prepared by Smokey Yunick (Best Damned Garage), and driven by the prophetically-nicknamed "Fireball" Robets. Roberts was later to perish in a firey crash.
I add this model to me collection (second one to go up in the new "archive" room), with a little reluctance. The basic detail is adequate, colours are correct, as are the decals. Biggest disappointment is the attention to detail to make it correct, for the racer to appreciate. Notice the trunk, with no evidence of the fuel cell, fuel fill, etc., however on the underside, the fuel cell is clearly visible.
I love the black and gold paint schemes that Smokey used, so this one stays on the shelf, but I do wish that a little more attention to the detailing had accompanied it.
