Hello everyone,

I thought I would send out another Happy early Thanksgiving! This time I'm posting our very first prototype photos of our 1:18 1978-81 Chevy Camaro. These are fully functioning opening panels as part of our standard 1:18 line. As you can see from the images, we have a variety of parts and options on this model.

Happy Thanksgiving and have a good holiday everyone,

Matt

I agree with the others here- everything looks fantastic so far! This was among my favorite American cars as a child of the late 1970s/early 1980s, so it's great to see a quality 1/18 Camaro from that era. I figure I'll buy multiple versions of this car, just as I plan to do with the 1974-1978 Mustang IIs that you offer. (BTW, thanks for answering my questions in the thread about the Mustang IIs, and I'll look forward to a Mach I version whenever you make them!)

very cool, I will be getting a couple of these. I am not a transformer fan but my guess is you are doing the car from those movies as well, it would sell like crazy.
Actually Bumblebee was a '76 not a '77. That's a different bumper and some other changes. But it's very close. Not sure if we will add these parts or not.

Thanks,

How about the Jefferson's brother's Camaro from "Fast Times at Ridgemont High"?

Looking crude but good so far Matt! Thanks for this nice Thanksgiving

Is it Ok if i share this info with my co-collectors on a Dutch forum?
Sure, as long as you make sure to say concept or prototype and GreenLight with it. GM still needs their time with this as well so we always keep the preliminary terms with each posting when possible.

Thanks,

Matt

Great stuff! I had contact with Tom here in the Netherlands about these Camaro's! I would like to see a white one with red and orange stripes please!
What year? We have one similar to this on our list already. As we are narrowing this down I'll let you know. The one we're looking at is White w/red stripe package and Carmine interior on the 1981.

Thanks,

Hello everybody

Is there any news about release date?

Thanx
We are right now expecting the first ones to ship from China in July so that would put them in the US in late August. Of course these are subject to change but that's the plan at the moment. Once I have a test shot I'll post some photos here.

Thanks,

Matt

Can't wait until this hits the shelves! Looks great so far.

Are there any future plans for a 3rd Generation Camaro or Firebird? I know you already have the GTA Trans Am, but I would love to see a stock Firebird too.
