:feedback I see that Guiloy hes come out with some classic Ferraris. McLaren F1's and the Hispano Suiza, all for moderate prices. However, I am not familiar with this company. What kind of quality do they produce and how do they compare with others? Are their models worth $35? Thanks in advance! :feedback

Guiloys are typically between AUTOart and above Maisto, if you ask me. Their lower line offerings are more on par with Revell, or even worse. As long as you stick with the newer stuff, you'll be fine.

Guiloy is known for their motorcycle models. The company is in Spain and has two lines of 1:18 diecast cars, the Gold Series and the Deluxe Top Line. The latter line models sell for about twice as much as the former.
I bought a Deluxe Top Line 1937 BMW 327 Black/Burgundy Hard Top Coupe at a discounted price well below retail. This particular model retails for around $50 to $60. For the retail price I don't feel it would be worth this amount. Highway 61, at the same price point roughly, are far superior in terms of detailing, fit and finish.

The best part of Guiloy models and the BMW in particular is the very nice engine detail.
They do an excellent job with special attention here to many various parts and wiring. Paint jobs are good.
The interiors leave one wishing they would do quite a bit better.

I will say that IF you can get Guiloys for substantially below their retail prices they are definitely worth getting. Paying full retail would be questionable.
.

I cannot speak for their motorcycles for which they are quite well known.

I have two bikes from them. One Aprillia, that supposedly is 1:18, is a little bit worse then crap. But I have a Kawasaki 1:10 that is very good (but not as good as Minichamps's 1:12 though).

I kind of look at Guiloy as a cross between Maisto & Bburago. I've only got one, a Ferrari 250GTO/64. It is a nice model detail-wise on the outside, but inside, it has a little less detailing. I got it from Jeff, (Max Power) and I'm very happy with it.

Next to the bad lines and cheap parts Guiloy simply puts mirrors on places they've never been on a real McLaren. They miss the side windows. I been offered some but I pass. If you take the efford to pay for the rights to make McLarens do something with those rights. Guiloy missed big time.
