A message from Tim Dunlop regarding the current and future situations with Mad4Models

Firstly I would like to thank all of you who have visited my site for your support over the past 18 months.

Mad4Models was established in September 2000 and initially we traded only via E-Bay supplying high quality models to collectors all over the world. I monitored the business closely during this initial period and it quickly became apparent that the fees incurred whilst using the E-Bay system were eating away at the already small profit margins. Therefore I decided to start work along with a web designer to develop a site where collectors could source high quality models and some of the harder to find Dealer Edition models. The Mad4Models site was completed and launched during the early part of 2002.

Many of you will have visited my site on many occasions and hopefully you have found it useful and that you experiences have been enjoyable. I would also like to think that most of you who have purchased models from the company have always received the highest standard of customer service.
I am the first to acknowledge that there have been a few issues that have caused some customers to doubt the integrity of my company, but many of these issues have been beyond my control. Factors such as postal strikes, dishonest carriers and poor service from suppliers have all caused my customers and me problems.

I have carried out constant reviews with a team of business advisors during the past three years and we have looked at many ways to increase the sales and profitability of Mad4Models. The most recent review was completed about a month ago and we looked very closely at the growing diecast market and in particular the increased availability of Dealer Edition models from other companies than mine. The completion of this review has led me to make a very difficult decision.

I closed the Mad4Models retail store here in the UK on 1st November and will be no longer taking orders via the Mad4Models website from 1st December 2003.

I am a keen collector myself and therefore will be keeping the Mad4Models forum online. I have always enjoyed the regular contributions that customers and collectors have made to the forum and hopefully you have all enjoyed my posts.

I am aware that there are outstanding orders that some of you may have placed with my company. I will be contacting you personally in the next few days to discuss your order and would like to assure you that you that all orders will be fulfilled or your money refunded in full.

I hope this fully outlines the situation with Mad4Models and please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected] if I can be of any further help.

Regards
Tim Dunlop

Well ...I'd better email him for my refund.. Its been about a month and my car hasnt come in.
Sorry to hear of this unfortunate turn of events Tim. It does seem the diecast market is a cut-throat one and it is such a shame to see a promising venture like you retail shop and website go under.

Sorry again,

Ronan
Best of luck on all of your future endeavors. Your company will be missed by all diecast collectors

Don't be a stranger to this site

Tim,

I am sorry to hear about your decision to close up shop. As a former customer of yours, I can say the service your site provided is nothing but first rate. The departure of Mad4models will indeed be a great lost to the diecast model collecting community. I certainly hope it will return in force in the near future.

Interceptor,

I am very sure you are very frustrated right now. However, I can assure you that Tim is doing EVERYTHING he can to make good of what he promise you. As you already know, there is a postal strike in UK. Even if Tim ship another one out to you today, you will not receive what you order anytime soon. Tim has been in the business for several of years already. I am sure his business won't survive this long if his intention is to defraud his customers. So, please work with him. I am sure the outcome is in your favor.
