Hello to All

Just want to introduce myself.

I'm what you would call an old coot with multi interest ranging from woodworking to surfing the net with a lot in between. I spent 22 years in the army got out worked another job for 18 years and then retired. Tht was about ten years ago.

My interest in collecting model cars and such began back in the early years in the army. It was inexpensive entertaiment and many hours wre spent at the kitchen table building model cars and trucks. Regretfully most of what was built back then didn't make it. But what has are about thirty matchbox articles from back in the days when matchbox was made in England. Of course back then keeping the boxes wasn't even considered. Even though, even after raising two boys and a girl these item never saw the floor. They represent the start of my Diecast collection.

It goes without saying over the years I have continued to collect with a resulting inventory of about 100 vehicles, part of which is a full collection of the Budweiser Vehicle Series.

I look forward to interacting with you all and hopefully in time will be a contributor to this forum.

Conversationally I haswer to Jack.

The best to all

masmic :happy

Welcome aboard Jack! This place is dangerous - be warned. I'd love to see some pics of the Budweiser collection. Another member here (Max Power), who is otherwise a decent guy, likes to tease me with pics of his Bud vehicles.

Welcome aboard!!!

I can remember the old Matchbox boxes as well. I must have had about 200 - 300 of the cars when I was a kid, and many of them came in those small cardboard boxes. I used to buy them at the corner hardware store. Funny thing is, I have heard of the boxes alone going for a considerable amount of money on eBay! :cheers

Welcome to DX Jack! I am sure you will like it here.

My first cars were matchbox too though none of them have remained now. They all gave their life for me to have tonnes of fun.
