Did Kyosho produce a Ferrari 288GTO at any point in the past?
I'm hoping they did, and it that was very good.
Check this out - a black right hand drive version....
i am afraid not. However I suppose they could if they wish to since they already made the fully opening 308/328 series.. a missed opportunity sadly cos I reckon those will sell very well. I guess I could say the same about their 550 GTC as well. They really should made the road going 550 Maranello alongside with the race car no doubt they will be heaps better than UT and HWE me think.

I am betting on Aa re-releasing Countach solely because of their recent affection for all things Lambo and the release of Diablo SE30. Might as well be baseless, but I spend too much on models anyway and have a bit of life to live (I hope), so I'll wait ;)
While re-releasing them isnt going to bring the price tag down but hopefully with wider availabilities that will hopefully stabilise the prices in secondhand market. Not all Autoart worth 4 digits figure (in fact none of them should tbh)

I remember a long while back the old Autoart Diablo SV was in hot demand and they easily went as far as $500 but it seems that they might have fell from grace now. I imagine the countless resin Diablo and the new AA Diablo might have put a dent in that.

Not sure about that since their 308 is completely off proportion and as far as I know 288 GTO was based on 308, but for the life of me I can't understand why they did 550 GTC and passed on 550 Maranello. I'd buy a shipping container worth of them.
I am no mean an expert on the 308/328 series so I won't be able to really comment on the accuracy of the Kyosho models. However they were fairly well built IMO and I always rank them as 2nd best next to Autoart. It is a missed opportunity for not trying to extend their lineup to include the 288GTO since it is based off the 308. The 1/18 Ferrari 288GTO with full opening and popup lights will easily be the top seller. So far the only closest one we could get is the 1/12 Tamiya set. I regret for not buying one when a loose one came up for sale asking just $300 many years ago.

I also remember long ago one of the forum members here commissioned a custom build of the 1/18 288GTO using HW and the donor popup lights from the Kyosho 308. It was an epic build.

I think that forum member was MRM, who has a lot of knowledge and skills, banned by DX because he broke some rules.
Ah yes i think he was the builder. There were detailed progress photos and the end result was fantastic and i think the one really caught my attention was the awesome working popup lights.

@pdc: thanks for the comparison photos! Now I see what you mean by the disproportion front of the 308. Personally I suppose i can still put up with the slight inaccuracy overall and I only have a yellow QV. Still hope to net a red pre-QV or better yet, the blue Paris motor show version some day. I am lucky to have both 328 GTB and GTS but I always thought the 308 looks prettier.

Amazing the WW Countaches seem to be more reasonable price wise... I actually thought of getting the red one and remove the decals as I prefer the clean look but on 2nd thought I hate to ruin a perfect good model should the removal process goes bad...

Speaking of the Diablo SV, i was watching an auction for the blue with red SV script couple months ago.. unboxed and missing rear spoiler but otherwise fine. Too bad I was on overseas holiday at the time and didn't bid for it as it didn't go for much at the end.
