@pdc: thanks for the comparison photos! Now I see what you mean by the disproportion front of the 308. Personally I suppose i can still put up with the slight inaccuracy overall and I only have a yellow QV. Still hope to net a red pre-QV or better yet, the blue Paris motor show version some day. I am lucky to have both 328 GTB and GTS but I always thought the 308 looks prettier.

Amazing the WW Countaches seem to be more reasonable price wise... I actually thought of getting the red one and remove the decals as I prefer the clean look but on 2nd thought I hate to ruin a perfect good model should the removal process goes bad...

Speaking of the Diablo SV, i was watching an auction for the blue with red SV script couple months ago.. unboxed and missing rear spoiler but otherwise fine. Too bad I was on overseas holiday at the time and didn't bid for it as it didn't go for much at the end.

Kyosho's 308 is either too wide for the length or the front end is too chunky, it should be a tad slimmer up front and widening towards the front arches should be more pronounced.
I'm gonna play devil's advocate here and say that the width discrepancy at the front between 1:1 and 1:18, if present, is negligible. Besides, shooting angles and distortion effects from lenses play a role in the resulting images.

The pictures you quoted are of cars of two different eras: Kyosho's model represents the 1982 GTS Quattrovalvole with the optional deep/wide front spoiler, and taller front grille with lights on each end, both of which may give the impresion that the front is wider than it should. The real car picture is an early standard 308 GTB from the 70's, without any of these front features.

I'd argue instead that the Kyosho model actually lacks curves: the front fenders and quarter panels look too straight-lined compared to the real car. The model look as if it's been flattened by a giant foot, I'd say the side panels (including doors) are missing a few milimeters in height.

Here's the same (but resized) 1:18 Kyosho 308 QV pic, now comparing with another 1:1 308 QV pic.

Another thing wrong on the Kyosho model is that the Ferrari badges on the mirrors are oversized.

@pdc, GTB might be a bit more accurate to you 1/1 pic that the GTS !

Another thing I've only just noticed looking at your pictures is the ride height and stance. Kyosho's QV looks much closer to the ground up front than it should, even factoring in the bigger front lip.

You guys are right, I was just trying to find the closest angles on 1:1 and 1:18 to illustrate my point and the non-QV one was the closest I could find to the Martinoss's picture. I'm not sure whether the 'too wide' efect is really caused by wrong proportions or it's a byproduct of the fenders/quarters being too butch, not chiseled enough, but they are for sure. I've also seen a theory here that both Kyosho 308 and 328 were 'built on the same plate' and that's why the 308 is 'too wide' but the real cars were so close to each other in width/length that it's most definitely bollocks.

Funny how such minute (especially in 1:18) differences transform the look of a car. Same with Aa's Mazda RX7 FD. I wish Kyosho would take these comments seriously and update their 308. Yeah, I know ;)

Reasonable? How much are they wherever you live then? Here Kyoshos are hard to get and usually cost 200-250 USD with new Aa retailing at around 300 USD. That's not a minute difference, but (to me at least) the same price bracket as Aa and way past the reasonable price bucket.

I am betting on Aa re-releasing Countach solely because of their recent affection for all things Lambo and the release of Diablo SE30. Might as well be baseless, but I spend too much on models anyway and have a bit of life to live (I hope), so I'll wait ;)
Fair enough point. At local retailers I'm seeing new Kyosho's going for about 220-240 CAD depending on the diecast. On ebay the cheapest AA Countach right now is over 400 CAD. Of course YMMV, but as it stands the price gap is quite large from my vantage as long as the Countach follows a similar price point as the other Kyosho's.

I too have high hopes for an AA release of the Countach, but that'll take some time since they haven't even mentioned it in any release yet. I'm still waiting for their C8 to finally be released. The 1:1 only came out 3 years ago. 🤨

I wanted to buy the new release Miura in Yellow. But I checked different pics from sellers and YouTube videos, the hood and the trunk don't shut properly, some 1 mm gap or so. I thought it was with 1 or 2 samples. But many seller's images had that issue. So I didn't buy it. Wish Autoart makes them in composite. Even with minor flaws, Autoart would be much crisp over all. I would love to see it in Gold or light green color.

it genuinely looks like a model designed and made in the 90s. You'd think for $265 you'd at least get some of the refinement we saw on Autoart's Delta S4 and the Quattro
I have the feeling it was designed in the past but never released.
I have an Otto resin version, but am tempted to get the MC version, although only when heavily discounted.

I think it looks like one that OttO Mobile made, only it opens. It it was sealed I think it was an OttO Mobile model.
