My fascination with concept cars continues, the latest addition is AUTOart Ford Shelby GR-1 Concept. Took me awhile to find Guardsman Blue within my budget but I finally did. Nothing really pops out above and beyond your typical AUTOart. The doors are kept in place with a little magnetic embedded in the door. AUTOart always does a great job replicating wheels and the GR-1 is no exception. Rear hatch is sealed (boo). Front hood is forward opening with very nice engine detail. Enjoy the pics!

I've never seen one of these before, neither in diecast nor pics of 1:1.....so thanks for sharing {K}

It really is a cool design and looks very distinctive - bit like a fusion of the GT40s with the Shelby Cobra Daytonas.....

Surprising for AUTOart to have the rear hatch sealed tho'.....

it's very cool !!! i don't know autoart has released in this colour too. My favorite colour ! is this new release after the chrome one?

Ohhh i love it! Great addition mate !!!
Thank you. No this is definitely not a new release they came out in 2008. Both Silver and Blue were released in limited numbers. The chrome/polished edition was released in 2010 I believe.

I love this car. I have watched the rerun of the tv show about its creation I don't know how many times. However though I think it was never made in blue, but anyway, it looks **** in this livery.
The model looks pretty well made .
Congrats

Nice add...I don't collect concepts, but this looks fantastic in blue. The silver one doesn't do much for me, though.
My thoughts exactly, that is why I waited so long to find a Blue at the right price. Not a fan of the chrome/pilished either.

I have come back into diecasts after some time off due to unemployment and other personal issues. This specific model is one I would like to acquire - the Guardsman blue version - but no one seems to have any. All I can find is the polished aluminum or "chrome" version for upwards of $200.

Are there any forums here or elsewhere where I can post a "Wanted" note?

Interesting note, as I am sure you are all aware, ol' Shel was in his 80's when he designed this car! Not to mention helping with the 2013 Mustang GT-500 right before he passed away.

Thanks all.
