Can anyone confirm if Minichamps's Carrera GT was the first model ever to have leather seats.

I don't think it is - but at the same time I am not able to think of any other model that was released with leather seating surfaces prior to the CGT :confused

There are a few that pre-date the CGT. CMC's Merc SLR (the 1/12 is supposed to have actual SLR leather), Minichamps's own SL500, some of Kyosho's Mercedes DEs and the DE Maybach 62 are a few that come to mind.

:iagree But in 1/18 I would think that the 1999 release of the YM '49 Cadillac coupe DeVille vert was the earliest.

Thanks for the info gents :cheers

Any pics of these models you mention.

I sure would like to see the leather in them.

Thanks for the pics Lloyd.

For being miniature seats - I am really impressed with the SLR and SL's appearance.

I thought leather would be much harder to shape when dealing with a small piece like such.
