M3 GTR: Minichamps

Yes or no. I've found one for a decent price, and I've been an M3 freak for a while. It's the #42 race version. I think it would be a grand addition to the Yokohama car that should (better) arrive tomorrow. Anyone have one? I really like the UT 320 touring car that I have...

Hey Tim - I have the #43 and adore it!!! As there no longer in production, most people end up paying a bit of a premium to get it. Here are some pics...Hope you don't mind me bombarding your thread with so many.

Tim,
you've heard the saying "a fool and his money are soon parted"? Well if
you've found a race version M3 for a decent price, you'd be a fool to not part with the money. These are getting harder to find, most come fom Europe now on Ebay and you'll more than likely spend 100Euros+ for one.

Do yourself the favor and get it.

Is it the Minichamps version or the BMW version? The BMW version is the car that ran for the season and took the manufacturer's championship and with Jorg Muller taking the drivers championship and JJ lehto in 2nd. The Minichamps version is the Petit LeMans version and the car finished 12 overall and 4th in class.

Either way you can't go wrong. :cheers

I say go for it, you won't be dissapointed. Nice detailing, and it's really, really heavy.

amazingly, its' so heavy (the heaviest 1:18 car i have) but the tyres actually hold up the car pretty well.... i really like the weight of this car

It is the Minichamps version, not the dealer version. I found one for $49.99 US, so I will more than likely snatch it. I really, really like the 320 I have, and I'm sure I'll be thrilled with the 98' M3 GTR, although now I won't see it until I arrive back in Denver from my trip back to NY.

So other than 3 Ferrari F1 cars, I also have a couple of AAs, and quite possibly this Minichamps car on order once I return. 13 new cars in July, might as well shoot for at least 13 new ones in August! Anything that helps inch towards that magic 200 mark!

Tim, that is a good price (very good, in fact). I'm thinking of getting one even though I'll have to pay more then that.

That's half the price I paid for mine from a dealer. I'd be all over that car at THAT price!!!!!
