After finishing the E39 I turned to latest M5, the F10, to create another unique exemplar.
Once I saw pics of an E60 in m5board and felt in love: http://www.m5board.c...-here-pics.html
So yummy in this combination!!
Guess my choice for F10 now...
I've opened the middle intake. The outer ones are too thick, this would mean too much effort for little effect.
Then I reworked the headlamps:
- removed the silver part inside the glasses and replaced it by more accurate lines in matt white
- indicators painted matt white with dabbed on grey LEDs
- tinted lenses
Interior was repainted to Caramel again as on E39 before.
For more "Individual look" I spent "extended wood trim" to the door panels.
The exhaust tips looked weird so I replaced them by metal tubes, just plugged on the tailpipes - fits perfectly.
For chrome shine I covered it with BMF and then blacked them inside.
One big problem of Paragon's M5 are the wheels! They look off-size and spoil the whole appearance of the car.
Instead of them I chose M6-wheels which should underline the noble touch very well.
To mount them I widened genuine Kyosho hubs to an inner diameter of 4mm, and pressed them on the given pins.
Wheels don't spin but can be stuck on or removed easily this way, no glue needed.
When replacing the sun roof, I broke it.
What to do?
Luckily the ceiling has a nice frame already. So why not display an open roof?
Just cut a small piece of remaining sun roof and glued it to the back. For perfect look I add an air deflector from styrene...
Sometimes mishaps can lead to better results!
After reassembling and polishing it was already dark outside and without sunlight the color appears all black but anyway here are some pics.
Better shots following soon.
