Looks very good
I now know why my paintjobs seem thin and unstable - I put way too little clear coat on
How many layers is the color?

Yeah, it's a fine line between too little (orange peel) and too much (tears).
To find that out is a question of experience/training. It took me a while, too.
Further it depends on kind and maker of the clear coat, they all have different characteristics.
One day you figure out which works best for you and then you never change again.
Not said that this is the best for anyone else.

Grille and headlamps

Not that much news though it was a lot of work:
I cut out the bars from the grille so that I only kept the frame. Then I fit in the mesh instead, cut the trident from the bars and glued it on.

The new headlamps needed some more creativity. The old inserts were useless, for the facelift version I had to create something completely new. I used the lenses from a Revell Artega and glued them in. For the DRL strips I used thin plexiglass, cut stripes of 1mm width, dipped on some silver points from the back to simulate the LEDs and then blacked it from the back, bent them and glued it in place.
The sidemarkers were painted with clear orange from inside and highlighted with Bare Metal Foil.
Also the washer caps were done with BMF.

Actually I considered painting the mesh black first. But seeing it this way I changed my mind.
Given this and the changes on colour and rims I'll probably turn it into an "S" instead of "GTS" and will also add some chrome trim around the side windows to complete the classy look.

BTW I finished the back meanwhile:

the engine compartment

before:

Looks a bit "death" so I tried to bring it to life by painting details and adding some tubes, wires, reservoires, etc.

Still not top notch but good enough for a quick view beneath the hood.

Way less details in the rear of interior...

Impossible to keep it in this condition!

Though it will hardly be visible in the end I had the ambition to get it matched to the front door panel.
How to do? Of course with my favourite material: styrene sheet

Don't ask for the drugs I popped! I need the rest of it for the other side tomorrow...

Looking epic as always raidou, I'm glad you pressed on with this.

Those headlights look so fantastic thaaat... I'm a little hesitant to bring this up but looking at pictures, I could have sworn the headlight shape is slightly different on the face-lifted version compared to the earlier model Quattroportes. They appear to be slightly pointier along the bottom, inner portion of the headlights compared to earlier models, which appear a bit more squared off in that area... is that just me??
