I've been eyeing the '87 Caprice ever since I saw it posted here for sentimental reasons (it's the car I learned how to drive on). I just feel the price is a tad high for what it is from the one retailer in the US I found that's taking preorders. And for some reason the sellers on ebay are quoting insane prices! For non-police versions some are asking 500+ for the one in burgundy!!! WTF?!?!? Did I miss something?

Hi BK1, just a heads up, Greenlight is bringing out a few 1980-'90 1/18 Caprices that look way, way better than the MCG version. Closer to actual scale, etc. Probably cheaper than the MCGs are currently. I hope this helps- I was also looking at MCG's Caprice but all the mistakes made me wait.

@phantom440

Thanks for the tip! I wasn't crazy about the MCG prices, quality, and lack of opening parts, but was likely to get it for sentimental reasons. However, I'd definitely prefer a Greenlight version especially with opening doors and such. Do you have any idea when the release will happen? I checked out Greenlight's site, but found no details/press releases.

This ought to spur Minichamps into re-releasing their superb all open versions rather than the sealed types previously mentioned.
Being MCG, these will be sealed, and a little short on interior detailing....
Three versions initially, it will be interesting to see these in the flesh, by 1978 BMW teams in the DRM were playing around with the aerodynamics.
Those in the World championship 2 litre class tended to stick with the factory supplied pieces - which were changed very little after 1977.

Just seen @thebigmacmoomin mention that he's pre ordered a couple of them. I didn't know they were making it! That's cool, though! 90 spec too :cool:(y) (OttO Mobile made the 88 spec) I always wanted a 90 spec model (different front bumper, rear spoiler, bootlid script, seat pattern, fuel computer on the last ones, maybe a couple of other bits I may have forgot about)

I'll see what it looks like when it comes out :cool:

Yeah, yellow and white RS2000 & grey and white RS Turbo's. The grey RS Turbo prototypes also have different wheels as that being labled as the tuner version. Not sure if there are any other differences. Hope not, paint the white one and use the chassis on the Grey one to go with the white & red Otto's. £68.95 each posted each isn't too bad. Considering the Sierra is a decent quality, i have high expectations of these. Hoping for more fast Ford's soon (Mk2.5 Focus ST please MCG).
