One of Minichamps' latest releases, the 1:1 dates from 1965.

Up to their usual standard - paint is excellent & the photoetched grill & 3-pointed star are well done. The model represents the long wheel base version - a comparison with my Viteese 220 SE, shows all the extra length went into the rear doors for more rear space.

I think the "Fintail" is one of Mercedes-Benz's best designs - I think I've got the major variations covered now, following receipt of the 300 SEL.

Jeff, I must admit, I wasn't aware that Benz made a Fintail wagon - I've never seen one & the only other body styles I'm aware of are the coupe & cabriolet.

Were there any specialist conversions - I know this was prevalent in the UK - coachbuilders would convert various British cars to wagon form.

I know I have seen them, I have a Porsche book with one of them in the background but it is entirely possible that it was a conversion.
It was a very handsome car!
