That’s upsetting about the Polistil model. I actually have a black on I got from my BIL who was cleaning out his childhood bedroom. It’s not particularly well done but growing up with posters of them on my wall I was happy to get it. I also got from a Bburago 288 as well that’s dying for a rebuild someday (I’ve got F40 wheels and the Tremonia kit) but that’s going OT.
I wish I felt strongly enough about the Countach to buy a nice model of one. The only other Lamborghini that even interests me is the Jalpa (Phil the Shill!) which I don’t think they’ve made in 1:18.
i think perhaps the reason why Polistil one looks slightly better is due to the size of the tyres. On Bburago they are bit too big for the car hence making it looks immediately out of proportion. I did a size by size comparison of the Autoart Countach vs Bburago and turns out Bburago doesnt look as bad so long i can find donor wheels to slap on.
Interesting that u brought up Bburago 288 GTO. I picked up a pair of poorly treated Bburagos last week for mere lunch money.. and have done some detailing to the 288 GTO so far in between of short breaks from work. the plastic has become so brittle that they snap easily if i am not careful with the disassembly LOL
I completely forgotten about Phil Collins guest apperance on MV and had to look it up. The white Jalpa is indeed a perfect matching pair with a white Countach! Too bad there arent any 1/18 examples yet but i suspect at some point we will see an expensive resin of it popping up somewhere.. The black Jalpa from Rocky 4 is what i can remember. Brief but memorable scene.
