The three C5-Rs that I have were all co-driven by Canadian racer, Ron Fellows. So what better mod than to get his autograph on the three cars? :giggle

I chose to have the #2 Rolex 24 car autographed under the hood because I wanted to keep the outside in pristine condition.

You want my autograph too? :giggle
Yes please Souky!! If you would be so kind as to sign any of your racers and mail it to me, I will remember you forever. :giggle

Ronan: I had been waiting for the past 3 or 4 months for Ron Fellows' appearance. I'm so happy when the big day arrived! :cheers

That's great Felix! It's good to know the wait was worth it! He seems like a cool guy, nice the way he posed with SM Jr!!! :cheers

I guess it's cool for some, I would never let that happen to my diecast. Maybe I'd let the guy to sign the box or the base of the model with a white marker. Congrats on getting a chance to meet Ron. :cheers

You wouldn't believe how long I struggled with that decision Tom! :tempted That's why I got the two more easily-found cars signed on the outside and the very-difficult-to-find #2 car signed inside the hood. I figured if in the future, I really hate my decision with the cars signed on the outside, at least it's a little easier to "replace" those.

:cheers

Ron Fellows has to be one of the most approachable racers I have ever met. I was at the Dallas, Texas Trans Am race in 1996, and happened by a vendor trailer selling t-shirts, and I had always appreciated the Sunoco return to Trans Am, and their sponsorship of a Camaro driven by this Canadian named Ron Fellows. I was admiring a t-shirt, pondering its purchase, when a voice said: "Would you buy it if it was autographed?" I looked up, and there was Ron Fellows. He had arranged to be at this vendors trailer at that precise moment, and I bought the shirt on the spot. He took it out of the plastic bag, and signed it, and it has been there ever since, until tonight.

Years later, at an ALMS race at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas, I knew that Ron Fellows would be there with the factory Corvette team. I had several Ron Fellows die cast, including the recently released Sunoco Camaro. I found him in the garage area, and presented him with the hoods from three models, two Corvette's, and the Sunoco Camaro.

Here, for the first time, on the world wide web, are these autographed pieces of racing memorabilia, acquired years apart:

Felix, you are so lucky to have the opportunity to have your son meet such a genuine person. Ron Fellows will always be among my favorites.

That's a really interesting story Jim. :cheers :cheers That Camaro is a really awesome looking model. I wouldn't mind having that gem in my collection.

Yes, I & my little guy are really fortunate to have had a chance to meet Ron and shake his hand. We wished him good luck at the 2004 Le Mans too & hope that he & his co-drivers win their class. :happy :happy :happy

Awesome job SM and Jim. I unfortunately decided not to send my stuff as I had way too many things and felt it wouldn't be right after talking to Lucy at the shop.

I guess that means I'll have to get to a race for him to sign them.

I just got the AER Mustang of Ron's and it is "Way Cool".
