Well, today I received my M3 CSL, in silver, by AUTOart.

I was really excited as I hadn't purchased an AUTOart in a while, but the excitement ended shortly :ranting :ranting :ranting :ranting :ranting

First, I see that somehow AUTOart managed to mold the right headlight smaller than the left :confused :ranting

The doors are loose and wobble on their hinges :ranting

And, the problem that really made me angry, the drop of glue smeared to the left of the hood vent! :ranting :ranting :ranting

As it says in the topic, this will be my last Autoart, ever.

I may not even keep this one :ranting

Sorry to rant, but I'm just so angry :giggle

Has anyone else had problems like this with newer AUTOart's? :confused

Sorry to hear your bad news on this model.

I got the black Kyosho one and was over the moon with it.

I'm sure you will get one in perfect condition soon and be as happy as I am.

This is the 1st time I hear about so many problems in a single model by AUTOart, and it's also the 1st time I hear about any problems with this particular model. I know you're pissed at AUTOart (with all the reason in the world), but I guess you had very bad luck. Let's see (hope) if you can get a 2nd model.

:iagree

Before it was wheels and now this.

Could this be a case where the retailer should have sent it back to AUTOart and/or the distributor due to quality control issues...I would say so.

The glue smear alone is enough to prevent this from reaching a customers hands.

Damn, Justin, I'd be pretty pissed if I got a model like that. And one of the 'big boys' at that! Hope you can get satisfaction. Either money back or a new model. Good luck.

Oh man... Sorry to see you've got a lemon, Justin.

This is very unusual of AUTOart to produce such poor quality. I guess it slipped by QC...

I would definitely exchange this for another one.

What sucks about this deal is the wasted time and that you might have to pay for return shipping, unless you can get them to send a return shipping label for ya.

Good luck. I hope everything will work out. :cheers

I believe AUTOart's biggest problem has to be quality control, when I recieved some models like the 98 TS020 it came with a loose front bonnet and the right side mirror was broken. I fixed it but it was no big deal. Also my white countach had a paint chip on the left wheel arch and the dashboard sticker was on backwards. I can go on and on on this but I really think AUTOart needs to improve it's quality inspections. Also I didn't seem to have the problem's you had on your M3 CSL FGT, both my CSL's were in perfect condition, I guess your CSL was a bad model that came out of the factory.

Sorry to hear the bad news. Ive always has problems with my AUTOart's they just make a few miss'es here and there and Iv somehow had a nack for picking them up. I hope it works out. I too was tempted to never buy from them bc of the problems they came with but I couldnt resist.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune Justin! I think though that AUTOart really improved it's quality control over the last years as I don't have a single model from last few years that have any problem at all. I think you just had bad luck! :ranting

Sorry to hear about the poor quality that AUTOart stuck you with.
With as many as they produce, I am sure more than a few lemons get thru.
AUTOart can make some very nice cars but if the quality slips, they will have a hard time seling them.

I would not keep this car, I would return it as soon as possible.
I also wouldn't swear off AUTOart completely.
They can do some great work.
Good luck with your return :cheers

Surely if the AUTOart model is not fit for the purpose it was bought for (ie. displaying), you should be able to return it for a replacement or your money back!
(thats the Shoppers Rights Law in the UK)
Keep pushing AUTOart and the retailer both
