That's my understanding about the pricing of this model, it is the first release in a new line of AUTOart models called "Signature" AUTOart's which will have more detail and be more expensive than the "Millenium" line which up to now has been their highest priced line up. :cheers

If they add more detail and pick up the price Id say its worth it. Im always welcoming more detail into my collection.

:iagree

For the 787B I don't mind paying more if the detail is higher.

Personally I'll be getting the Mazda no matter what the price is, which annoys me in a way but I cannot resist a LeMans winner, especially one as good looking (in my humble opinion!) as this one! I suspect AUTOart know this and hence are using this model to launch a higher priced model line up... :cry :cheers

Same here, I can't pass this up no matter what. I pre-ordered it already for around $70...why do I fear that it's going to end up costing me more than that? How binding is the price I preordered the car for?

Lets say you pre-order a car at $70.
When the car is released every store is selling it at $30 and some on ebay are going for $20. Would you still pay $70 for the car because you pre-ordered it for that?

Same thing for the seller.
If they assumed that it would be a regular AUTOart release that they can sell at $70 and still make a profit that is what they will do.
But if the car ends up being a "Super AUTOart" and retails for $150 you know that the dealer is paying more than $70 for this car.
He is not going to lose money on the car just like you are not going to pay double.

A pre-order is not a contract, it is simply a place in line. It is a line you can step out at any time.
The seller would like nothing more than to be able to sell it for the price he has listed but business is still business.
He has rent to pay, employees and he has to feed his own family.
If the supplier (AUTOart) raises the price or raises the content (detail) the price will have to go up to cover that.
