Can you explain this? Because I can't! :confused
We're talking about the #5 1959 LM winner. It's currently available for 163.00 euros at Tom's Modelautos (and with luck even cheaper somewhere else).
Sold today for 231.00 euros on eBay !!! How come that people embark in such high prices without a simple previous market search?

I don't even think this is out yet?

Was the ebay auction a pre order?

Typical E-Bay i guess :confused

I didn't spot any 'pre-order' label anywhere. Nevertheless, in Exoto's site it's still in the 'coming soon' section of the Racing Legends.
Its been coming soon for 2 years.
Even when Exoto sends you an email telling you its coming you can still wait over a year :pullhair

Well, it's done. I've just ordered one from Modellautos-4You (a German site), for 145.95 euros plus shipping (154.45 total). This was just to test whether it's a pre-order, you know :giggle .
I had promised myself I would never buy an Exoto again ('cause of their crazy price raises), but :tempted I just couldn't resist!!! Now I'm afraid I may be sentenced to h*ll for this! :scared

But that's excellent, Jeff! Gives you enough time to spare one or two bucks a day, so when the model finally comes out you don't have to grab any more money to pay for it! :lol They sure care about us poor customers, down there!

I must admit to having a soft spot for exoto models, but their customer service leaves a little to be desired.
I'm sick of waiting for the Mansell FW-14b, but at least it looks like it isn't far away now.
The Aston looks nice, might have to think about getting one of these myself.
It's certainly not out yet. Still, that seller is selling the DBR-1 from his own collection, mint in box :lol He even has a pic of it, but that pic is of an IXO 1/43 model... Do I smell some fish here? :confused

They wouldn't dare... would they? I mean, sell an Ixo for an Exoto? :confused
But as to me, I'm convinced: these are pre-orders alright. Following my order, Modellauto-4You told me that they'll send me the model... as soon as Exoto Europe has it. [sigh] oh well, looks like I'm gonna have plenty of time to spare money for it :waiting .
Anyway, by the time I bought the Mercedes W196 Streamline in eBay, it was also still coming soon in CMC's catalogue, so who knows?... Hope is the last to die!
All I can say is that in Nov. 02 I ordered a "coming soon" Exoto Chaparral and I am still waiting :giggle

The seller has 0 feedback, the model isn't out yet, the model goes for more then asking retail price

Something terribly fishy is going on here in my opinion

And yet... the same day, the same seller sold (eBay id 6963529597) a Sauber C9 (#63, 1989 winner plus rolling chassis) for 174 euros, which I believe is well lower than average.
Mysteries of the small diecast world?... :confused
