A 1967 tour de force.....so far ahead of its time. The pity was the unreliability of the Wankel engine. In ten years less than 40,000 were built.

One of my favourite cars of all time.

I remember our local Fish & Chip shop owner having an RO80 in exactly the same colour as your model around 1974.

At the time when most people were driving around in Morris Marinas and Ford Cortinas , the RO80 came across as a very high class car .

Pity it was so unreliable

Thanks mox,

My tastes are somewhat Catholic. There are over 120 marques in my collection.....at the moment the Rising Sun seems to dominate my purchases. Although I am awaiting some more Spark models....the UK, Germany & Italy will figure prominently.

Sadly, the one area where 1:18 beats 1:43 is American cars (unless you buy white-metal models). Norev & Spark have released several recently, trouble is, they are recent 1:1s, which don't float my boat.
