Some time ago I bought a Hotwheels 1:18 Ferrari Testarossa, but the paint of the car had a problem: it had that layer that makes the paint shine (I don't know how it is called in English, sorry) damaged. I tried to fix it using Acrylic Wax on the car, but it only got worse. What should I do now? Remove the Acrylic Wax? How? Or is there other and easier or more effective solution?

My problem is not really the small damage in the paint, but the acrylic wax! Now my problem is that damn acrylic wax!

Why not try using a mild cutting compound on it to remove the wax and any damaged paint layers.
Use it lightly though , in small circles and be sure to stay away from any edges or you may just cut right through to the metal
