Oh boy, all my grails in that photo... what a stunning sight!
Cheers Gugga

I'm a big lancia fan myself. Hoping to see a 1/18 Beta coupe one day.

A 1:18 Beta Coupe will come soon from Laudoracing... maybe by the end of this year :)

superb pictures and collection. A joy to view :)

You've made my day Scuddy hearing that.
It will go to the top of my want's list.

I used to own one and loved it, until the clutch went. Took it to the garage to get it replaced, got a phone call later to tell me they could not lift the car it was crumbling to bits as they tried to lift it. It was the dread rust, apparently just the paint holding the car together. Gutted.

I'm happy I made you happy, mate :) As soon as I hear more, I'll let you know. At this stage, I have no idea if it will be an early chrome bumper car, or a later one, possibly like a Volumex. It'll be sealed resin though. My recent experience with Laudo is that the cars are excellent. I'll keep you posted :)

Sorry to hear about your Beta. At least yours lasted long enough to need a second clutch :)

Thanks, it was a long time ago and I got over it quickly as I replaced it with a Mazda RX3, it had the rotory engine and wow was it quick but it didn't handle like the Beta.

Had to scan this photo, no digital cameras back then.

Yes, let me know when you hear more about the Lancia and if you come across a 1/18 RX3 you know who wants to know

Just blowing the dust of an old photo album and came across some pictures of my first cabinet.
Photos are from around 1995 before UT made an appearance and long before Autoart came on the scene.
I only have a couple of these models still in my collection today, the rest have been sold on over the years.

My cabinet building skills have improved since then and I am just in the process of building another cabinet.

Very cool archive pic! Back when Bburago was dominating the diecast universe lol! I still have some of those old models myself, like a red Porsche 356 convertible, a silver 356 coupe, a purple Diablo, etc.

I never seen that white Ferrari 348 tho!

Let me share mine too, I started to buy models in late 2014, heres my all models in 2014...well it was exactly the same collection from about 2000 to 2014 so it could have been a 2000 photo and would be the same line up lol

Thanks Ironsim.
yep it seems some manufacturers like bburago keep producing the same model for ever.
I remember raving about the detail on the Bburago F40 when it first came out, how things have changed.

Also back then they all seemed to produce Ferrari's trouble was they all made the same model Ferrari like the 348.
If I remember right that white 348 in the cabinet was by Mira.

New cabinet under construction.

Should be 200 spaces when finished.
As its being built onto an outside wall I have first had to created an insulated barrier.

Covered this with sheets of white faced hardboard and then fixed the shelve supports to the battens.
Then made a frame for the glass.

Great collection beemer but what I'm really interested in knowing more about are those aviation models. I assume they're also 1:18 scale? Both the F-14 and F-16 look absolutely incredible in this size. Would you mind sharing the manufacturer of both of these models?

Thanks for your comments guys.
I will post more pictures as the cabinet progresses.

Uzair. The jet fighter are 1/18 scale produced by BBI Elite Force. They are becoming quite rare but they still come up on Ebay now and again.
They did a lot of planes at one time not just jets. They made a great spitfire and lots of other military stuff.

All you need is a "Wet Nellie" to finish that Esprit lune-up real good.

Fish would love that.

Cabinet just about complete. All painted. Glass shelves fitted. Glass sliding doors fitted.
Its just under 7ft tall and 8ft wide.
The shelves are 13 inches deep so plenty of room for the big cars.
