Hi folks,
I took some time off here because I lost the pleasure in hobby.
But now I'm back and want to show you my first project for 2012!

This year I like to concentrate on the unique treasures of BMW M GmbH, which were hidden in an underground garage for years but published last April.
First of them is the M8 Prototype.

Others like M3 E46 Touring or M5 E34 Cabrio will follow.

First I opened the lower air intake and cut the massive license plate mounting, which took me some time and 2 cutoff wheels.

Then I went on with the rear diffusor:

After that it was time to build the bonnet.
I closed the holes for pop-up-lights with 0,5mm styrene sheets and cut a new opening for the vent.

When all was spackled and sanded I placed the fins made from styrene strips (0,5x2,0mm) and glued the ugly but characteristic seal on the front end with 0,3mm styrene.

Hope you enjoy the next steps as there are: molding the front skirt, milling the lateral intakes incl. filling up the rear fenders and sills before turning towards engine and interior...

Where are the head lights going to be now ? just the ones in the front bumper?

- ah yeah, so they are (I've looked at the link now)

Pretty cool, what wheels do you have lined up for it ? the ones on the real car look way too small.

I got a cheap Bburago Z3 M from ebay. Those wheels are very close to it, I just have to replace the wheel nuts and paint the spokes met.-black for carbon look.
If this won't work, there is the 2nd option taking the original CSI/M5-rims. They were used on test drives:

But I prefer the non-popular first style to underline the uniqueness of this car.

@Mike: It's based on the Revell. Both models are not perfect but I like the Revell better. And I've done 3 custom jobs on it before so I know it inside out.

Today I went on with the first part of most difficult section.
First came my small but wicked machine...

Looks awful so far but much better after filling and sanding.

When I thougt all is even, I glued on the new protection strip.
But the macro modus shows the truth pitiless.

So I have to fill and sand it once more tomorrow before I can start with the faceplate/broadening.

Today's work:

First I did the basics for the upcoming broadening.
Bent and glued a styrene frame for the intake:

Then I cut the shape of fender from a thin styrene sheet.

After applying superglue to the metal I put the sheet on and fixed it with pegs:

Just hoping it would work...

And it did!!!

The result looks absolutely as expected!

The edges are just roughly sanded yet.

Now I have to level all edges with putty and then do the fine tuning.
And copy all on the other side...
