The JGTC pictures I found on www.motorsport.com shows the number on the door, NOT behind the door. Can anyone shed some light on why this may be? :confused :confused

(Pictures courtesy of motorsport.com All numbers are on door).

Number to rear of door

I found some interesting pictures on the JGTC website.

Here it's seen at T1 Aida, with the correct AUTOart livery (well, it's the sister car)

At Fuji, with aerodynamic rear wheel covers, but missing the front canard wings (for downforce reasons) with the number on the back

At Sugo the #22 car had the number plate in the front, but the #23 car had it at the rear... That's pretty odd.

But at Sepang it was back behind the door...

Fuji II, and again it's at the front

It carried the number at the front of the door for the remainder of the season. :confused

Yeah Felix it had the # behind the door in the start to mid season of the yeah, like peearr stated.

No idea why they moved it around, but the model is correct for most of the year 2002 :wink

I love your photo BTW :nicejob :nicejob

:cheers

It doesn't have two canards either!!!!
It might be a different car. Some teams
like in NASCAR have multipull vehicles
with slightly different setups for specific
tracks, and maybe this is one of those
alternate cars.

You might be on to something, tho at the round 1 race at T1 Aida is does have the two canards, but none at round 2 but look at the photo in round 5, it has a side canard right at the edge of the front spliter. so must be set ups for each track.

So my theory is the are diecast of the round 1 race. what do you think?

I could buy into that theory. As far as I understand, a race car needs to be prepped for each track very specifically for stuff like downforce, suspension, toe-in, camber, tire selection, etc. etc. etc. (I bet ibj40 with his experience as a racer could go on and on about this! :giggle )
