I re-discovered in storage (before I had my display cabinets) a 'Motorbox' Chevrolet Corvette.
Imagine my pleasant surprise when I opened the box to find another outer carton inside.
An Exoto 1967 Le Mans Sunray DX Corvette!
At least I can now say that I own one of these iconic models, bought for €100 from Modelissimo around seven years ago.
I knew I had the model, I just didn't realise it was an Exoto......

It's a beguiling mystery, not least because the guardians of Lambo's engine/chassis/body numbers were a bit 'loose' with the accuracy back then. :)
I have two books on the rally Escorts run out of Boreham, and both state the same machinations about chassis and registration numbers.
We must assume it was par for the course for several of the factories at the time..... :>)

alas, some sleuthing amid the fog of vague records is needed.

(ps... has your GTV6 arrived yet? ;-))
Yes - my GTV6 arrived on Thursday, and I finished a little bit of remedial work today.
I have some photos to upload, but I seem to be having an unusual problem getting them up.
Mind you, since the forums were moved to this new environment this does not come as any surprise.
I will try again tomorrow.
