This is probably the only Sauber I can afford for a while yet. Those Sauber C9's are just a little beyond my reach. Too bad one C18 doesn't equate to the satisfaction of having two Sauber C9. :giggle

I am amazed by the effort Minichamps puts into this F1 car. The paint is stunning to look at.

Wonderful shots, Felix! :nicejob

BTW, I'm thinking on starting a bet on how long will it take before you buy a C9. :giggle
Super car SM. :cheers I have always liked the paint scheme on the f1 saubers. The cool colors appeal to me. Sometimes i wonder how i choose to give up on the good looking albeit slower cars in the quest to get a race winning ordinary looking racer. The mclaren, jordan and the jaguar, were always the striking ones few years back. The ferrari and the williams used to look like plain janes when compared to these 3.

I'm glad you like those pictures. They really don't do the paint justice actually. Under good lighting, the paint looks nothing short of vibrant.

As for me acquiring a C9, well, you shouldn't hold your breath. I wouldn't want you to pass out. :giggle

I know what you mean about some of those slower cars being real "lookers". The Jordan with the hornet on front is really cool. The Jags are pretty cool too eventhough they were never serious competition. The McLaren are downright cool in my opinion.

Do you having any Minichamps F1 cars in your collection or are you mostly Hot Wheels?
I still have to open my account of f1 cars. Minichamps is not available here at all except for a few 1:43. Hotwheels are in the 50-60$ range and i wouldnt pay that kind of money for a kerbside model, though i get pretty tempted at times.
A few years back, there was this model of the stewart ford driven my barichello. I passed it up coz i wanted one of johnny herbert. And herbert had won the only race for the stewart team that year. It was a nice white car with those tartan stripes. I never came across a stewart again. Same thing happened with the jordans and jaguars. Saved up to get mika's macca. That also never came up. lol. I think i will wait for Minichamps to land here someday.
As for some consolation, i have the mercedes medical and safety cars. :giggle

I just if you're planning to build up a collection of F1 cars, 1:43 will help you postpone the space issue. I think someone here (DanielB) has photographed some 1:43 F1 cars. They look pretty darn awesome at that scale. :cheers

About C18 not = C9 + C9.....must be my wacko sense of humour. :giggle

The lettering detail is very subtle. I like "discovering" little details like that about diecasts (or anything miniature for that matter).

Thanks for the kind words about the pics. :cheers

Here are some re-shot pics. The more I look at this car, the more I like it!

Sadly, your comment about its performance hit the nail right on the head.
Great shots Felix - I have this model aswell. It is indeed great - but their current 2003 cars are much improved. Minichamps just keep getting better with every passing year.

Thanks for your kind words and I also appreciate your insight Dan. As there aren't too many Minichamps 1:18 F1 collectors on this forum, my knowledge about their quality has been a bit lacking. :cheers
