Only U.S. cars in my collection, i have about 220 cars including trailers, accessories and a camper.

'30s & '40s: cars like the Auburn Speedster,Cord 812, and HotRods of course.
'50s: cars like the '57 Chevy Belair and '55 Pontiac Star Chief.....
'60s & '70s: US musclecars.....Mustang, Camaro, Chevelle, GSX, GTO, Skylark, Challenger, Corvette, Cobra.........
Classic pickups like Apache, Ford F100, Dodge Warlock & Lil Red Express
Some newer cars, but these are the minority.
Try to stick to the 1:18 models, but collect the previously owned 1:1 cars, on 1:43.

Showpiece of my collection: Kyosho Shelby Cobra's, Mr. Caroll Shelby & GMP mechanics,
GMP goodies (Professional Shop Equipment & Parts Dept), and Snap-On garage-sets (there's more than i can put in this dio on display)

Need to build a (much) bigger garage dio, as all Kyosho Cobra's don't fit in there anymore

My favourite line-up
C1 1964 'Ertl) - C1 1961 (Ertl) - C2 1963 Split (Ertl) - C2 1965 (Ertl) - C3 1969 (Revell, mix of 3) - C4 1984 (Ertl) - C5 1998 (UT)

Chevrolet Corvette & Ford Racing Teams (GMP sets)

Moviecars (only the cars from shows/movies when i was a kid, so maybe Ecto1 should be there too)
A-Team (HotWheels Elite) - K.I.T.T (Ertl 1st production series, working scanner)
General Lee (Autoworld) - Christine (Ertl, real workingheadlights)

Those white ones with the blue racing stripe sure look nice.
Very nice collection and really digging the dio, too.

Hmm...ever thought about getting a rough/damaged 1/18, taking it apart, removing the engine, then setting it up in the dio with the engine/engine hoist to make it look like you are actually doing an engine swap?
When i start to build my 2nd, bigger Cobra-dio, i have 1 complete and 1 uncomplete older Kyosho cobra
to put on/under the gmp-lift as "work-in-progress".

Took some pictures of my cabinets how they look now.
Sorry, i have a plain digital camera, and low daylight in this hobby/play/library room.

Planning of buying a 2nd wooden display just for the Mustangs and Corvettes,
and giving the rest of the models more space. Number of cars may go up to 150 then.

Nice setup Sven.......guess the cabinets are Ikea? Really like the garage diorama....

guess the cabinets are Ikea?
The wooden cabinet is an Ikea Bjursta with extra glass shelves (8mm).

The cabinet underneath the glass showcase is an Ikea Leksvik.

The glass showcase is a counter showcase from a shop which i got from a firesale (70$)
Only got the picture of the 2ndhandsite before i filled it

900mm H x 1000mm W x 600mm D

Replaced the small wheels with the feet you get with every Ikea cabinet,
fits exactly on top of the Leksvik, which i reinforced the same way as the Bjursta.
(mdf 18mm backplate, all parts screwed together).

That glass showcase is very nice, would love to find one like you did in a firesale ... if you see how much these are brand new from a shop interior decorator you better be sitting firmly in your seat

Ask for someone to build one for you. I got my display case like that and I don´t think it was very expensive...

Nice american models you got there schuifelhoofd!! If you´re looking to add some more, I have a few american cars that I wish to sell! Send me a PM if you want a list, maybe I got something that interests you.
