Wanted to know if anyone knows where or how I can get a display case like the one in The Sharper Image. Or even something comprable to it. It holds close to 45 model cars

I was mistaken the case holds up to 64 1:18 cars and it will take a while till I can get a pic of this case, or if there is a Sharper Image near by check it out the cars are in the back.

Sharper Image is an affiliate, I looked on their website and couldn't find anything resembling the case your referring to. :?

Yeah, I tried that too - only single cases to be found on the website. I imagine that's due to the fact that shipping would be expensive for a 64er.

Yeah, well I guess I could try to copy off of them and make something similar to it. I talked to them and they said it cost them about 4-5 grand for each case.

Why dont you try making a display table like i have.. you could prob fit about 15- 20 1:18s in it and its a great talking point when peeps come visiting :)

these are sitting on a big mirror inside with glass level with the top of the table. My wife got this made up for me for a christmas present and she got the glass and mirror cut then upholstered the inside with blue corderoy looking material :)

QVC sells a table kinda like that. I think its for 1:24 cars but maybe 1:18 cars would fit too.

Hi, I'm new here and this is my first post and I was searching around for a case like the one they have at Sharper Image too. This is as close as I can get

Tecno Displays
If you are talking about the 4-sided case that SI uses to sell their diecast, you are going to have to find a company that does commercial displays. I don't think anyone that caters toward residential display would make one that is to be display in the middle of a room. You can see if a SI is closing in you area and buy theirs or find a local company that specialises in used store displays. Companies like this usually go in and buy all displays and fixtures before the public gets a crack at them.

BTW, welcome to DX! :cheers
There's a jewelry store that I pass every now and then in the mall that has THE most beautiful display cases I've ever seen. If I had a couple of those I'd be in heaven!! Each glass shelf has it's own micro spotlights, creating a VERY dramatic display. Even if I could just find out where to purchase those lights, and then fabricate a tower, laminate it, glass it and I'd have something relatively close.

(sigh)
