So over the past few weeks I've bought and sold a few diecasts here and there and I've noticed the varying sizes of boxes. Boxes inherently come in all shapes and sizes...a lot like people. In general, diecast manufacturer boxes are relatively the same size with a few exceptions. Buying/selling a diecast is sometimes not about the model itself but "how much extra is this going to cost(or charge) to ship". That can and sometimes is...a deal breaker. Gone are the days of commonly walking in TRU and WalMart (and many more) stores and just buying a car, truck or bike right off the shelf. I covered some of that in another post. Have any of you found a source for boxes that have shipping friendly dimensions to diecast boxes. If I'm selling something...whether it be a Maisto Motorcyle, an Autoart Himalaya or a UT Impala SS, I always try to grab a box that will give me enough room for packing material but not be a waste of space. Aside from reusing boxes from models I've bought or sometimes USPS Priority boxes, my own personal source of moving box dimensions don't favor my goal of keeping the wasted space down. Too big, too small, too long, too short. It seems like some companies (GMB comes to mind) get decent sized boxes.
Where are the good sources for boxes, DX?
