Hi guys, I want to repaint one of my cars to silver colour. But my last attempt with another model had been somewhat disastrous in away that the colour does not shine. I like to use Mr. Colour's #8 silver...what can i do? :feedback

You may have to shoot it with a coat of clear to give it that shine. After shooting the clear, use a polish to bring it out. :cheers

Testors in the aerosol cans should work for this. Testors has primer, paint and clear all in cans.

I would use a paint stripper to strip it down>

Followed by two light coats of primer>

Then 2-3 coats of Paint>

1 coat of clear>

Then a few nice coats of polish.

Let us know how it turns out, and if you have anymore questions, I'm sure we have enough folks to chime in with answers :cheers

I prefer Tamiya cans, but silver does tend to me a pain (even on diecast models that come painted in silver). Just takes a pit of polish work and elbow grease to get a nice shine on it.

i was once told that black under silver, chrome, gold etc brings out the shine better. havent tried it myself though
